Welcome to the last FWJ post for 2007. My New Year wish for all of you is for a happy and productive 2008. May all of your dreams come true! I’d like to offer a little end of year link love so I can turn you on to some wonderful blogs you may not be aware of, and also to say thank you to those of you who visit every day.

My blog pals all seem to have similar goals this New Year’s – to slow down, take on less work, and to have more free time. Letting go of work when so many bloggers are out there looking for more new gigs may seem counter-productive to the success of your career. However, having fewer jobs doesn’t have to mean less success or even less income. Look for better opportunities. You don’t have to take that lower paying gig. In order to make way for a more lucrative blogging gig beginning December 1st, I trimmed a down my client list. It was a difficult decision because I love all my blogging gigs, but I’m working on a full time gig and something had to give.It turns out December 2007 is not only my highest paying month, but it’s the month where I’ve done the least amount of work. Yesterday I asked you to offer up your tips on getting started as a writer. One of the regulars suggested writing on spec and discussion ensued. (Which is never a bad thing.) This just in via email. Project is to research, develop and write an appropriate White Paper or Report which I can persuade readers to request from my Web site. Audience is executive who is a qualified and interested prospective client for my consulting services. Then, write text for one-page sales Web Page, a landing page, which will advertise and offer this White Paper Report to readers.
