Is it normal for blog networks to pay experienced pro bloggers such low wages?? I mean, I was spoiled w/ my last job, and I dont expect other networks to pay that much, but these rates seem ridiculous.

Considering posts max word count is 70, that we provide images at no costs, and that there are bonus options available, you just need the whole picture….it may not be that low depending on the topic and the writing skills of the blogger.

No prob. I know it’s still not a ton of $$, but if you know the topic well, it’s usually pretty easy writing work, and fun even, plus lots of other side perks.
When I am blogging for 30-60 days I will reapply. Unfortunately I don’t fit that qualification yet. Love blogging though so that isn’t a problem.

Hi Tammy, just wanted to clarify. The 30 day blogging experience should relate to the desired topic right? Or would any topic do as long as one has more than 30 days blogging experience?
I’m not actually applying, but I was interested in the gadget blog before. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a 30-day old gadget blog to show when the ad was pulled down.
Not really. We first want people who have blogged. While we provide some guidance, we don’t teach people to blog. There are a lot of talented writers out there, but they don’t really “get” blogging, and unless you’ve blogged, I don’t think you can have full understanding of what would be expected of the job. I’ve had editors who didn’t even know what a blog roll was, so we are trying to avoid dealing with that sort of thing. However, we do want people who have some sort of similar background. Ideally, the blogger will have his own blog that is either on the topic or related. For example, a few months ago I hired our wine blog editor. She had a personal blog where she talked about food, wine, and life in general. She also owns a wine shop, and she’s got some web writing experience writing about wine as well, so she was a slam dunk.
