    1. Is it just me, or has there been a lot of music writer requests these days? Perhaps I don’t remember them before, but there do seem to be a lot.

I say this because there is a good possibility that we are seeing in these postings the leading edges of trends. I’m curious what it might all mean.

    2. Incidentally, I’m no competition for any of those gigs, since my knowledge of music is limited to that which was written before 1950, excepting a few bits here and there (like Phillip Glass and John Adams). So if these gigs are for you, go for it. I’m waiting for a job as a reviewer of the hottest new albums of Baroque music (ha!).

    3. LOL! Erik! BTW, any news on the comedic write job?

    4. I’m tool old fashioned for that gig – they want edgier stuff. I’m not surprised, really. I’m more of an observational comic. Hey, what’s the deal with airline food?

(wait … that’s a comedic style known as “bad”)

    5. What? That was funny…LOL. Maybe I’m out of touch with edgy comedy, myself. Don’t listen to me, I have the worst sense of humor. I’ve lost some friends over that too.

    6. What exactly is “edgy comedy” anyway? My impression has always been “edgy” comedy is comedy that tries to hard to be funny. Like, you have to ADD something to your funny otherwise your funny is just another myspace blog.

But if its EDGY the woo nelly! Look out! You’ll be writing for some unknown lifestyle website geared towards 16 year olds and people more concerned with how many STDs Paris Hilton contracted in prison. Now THAT’S Edgy!

    7. I’m pretty sure that the PT Editing/Writing listing is a term paper mill. I’ve seen them advertise like that before.

It’s okay, Mariella. We all have our downsides.

Now if only these leads were more to my taste and interests…
