Hi,
A couple of you have written to me regarding unsubscribing from comments. In a perfect world, you’d be able to check or uncheck the proper box, but my blog is still experiencing growing pains. There’s some sort of glitch with one of the plugins and Ajay, the guy who keeps things running around here, is looking into it. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s fixed.
I appreciate your patience for another day or so.
Incidentally this weekend is Ajay’s birthday – Happy Birthday Ajay, and many happy returns.

Happy Birthday Ajay, thanks for helping with such a useful website!
At the bottom of the e-mail that goes out when you subscribe to comments there’s a link for managing subscriptions. I used it and it works.
What seems to be happening is that the default for the subscribe box at the bottom of comments is checked. So people are probably subscribing without realizing it, which is what happened to me.
I’ll bet all you have to do is dig into the code for your comments and change the default setting to unchecked.
Happy Birthday Ajay! I wanted to share my thanks as well!
Thank you Deb and all of you. Birthdays are the only fun part of growing older
Oh and with respect to the unsubscribe problem, i know the manage subscription part is working out well and even changing the default checkbox code to unchecked is pretty simple.
The only problem is when you actually visit the same article on which you’ve submitted a comment and subscribed to updates, you will see a line that says “Uncheck this box if you do not want to receive emails when new comments are posted”
But you don’t see a checkbox. Thats what i am trying to fix.
Consider this bug history!
Hasta la Vista
I’m sure you’ll get it Ajay.
