Who is your favorite female blogger?

One of the regulars (thanks, Melissa) turned me on to this post: who is your favorite female blogger? It’s interesting to think about because blogging is such a male-dominated field. I like Liz Strauss and Gayla McCord and plan to head over to Enkay Blog, where a list of top female bloggers is being compiled so I can nominate them and show my appreciation. If you have a favorite, do head over there and offer your support as well.

Deb, I will definitely go over there. I have to say, you are my favorite. Your insight, honesty and providing good content are an inspiration to a novice such as myself. The tip on putting too many ads on one’s blog is one of the latest tips from you that I have put into practice.
All of my favorite female bloggers have Fuzz;-)
I like Debng. Randa Clay. Gayla McCord.
Why? Because they have Fuzz.
Ryan that sound kind of dirty. Is it something a bikini wax can fix?
I posted to nominate you in the comments but it’s not showing up.
I sent an e-mail nominating her to enkayblog@gmail.com
I nominated Deb too. So that makes three of us.
My favorite female blogger is Deb, with another Debbie running a close second–Debbie Schlussel.
Hi Deb!
Thank you! The feeling certainly is mutual! Your voice is strong, friendly, and always wise.
Hi Liz, I visited your blog and I can see why you are one of Deb’s favorites. (bows)
Hi Liz, thanks so much for dropping by – you’re one of my idols so you can’t imagine what a thrill this is for me!
And thanks everyone for the love.
Oh and Lorelle – another great female blogger, don’t forget Lorelle, and yes Ryan, Randa. Fuzz power!
I’ll head over there next, for sure.
Deb, you are actually one of my favorite female bloggers, and one of the few blogs I visit every day. (And yes, I did that before your contest — now I just visit multiple times every day! Between the jobs and the discussions, there has always been plenty of reason for me to come here.)
Another of my favorite female bloggers is Kathy Kehrli. I love that woman’s attitude!!!
Katharine> I read Kathy’s “Screw You” blog too. I love it ♥ I don’t think I’ve posted a comment before though. I’ll start doing that. Hey Katharine, I also visit your blog regularly.
Mariella, I also love the Irreverent freelancer. Kathi is great with her screw yous.
I just went over to Kathy’s blog. How refreshing! I’m going to be making regular visits over by her too.
She is.
I’ve actually gleaned tips from her blog on how to deal with problematic clients — and I’ve had my share of mine despite being new.
Hi Micah!
Thank you! What a great blogger you are!
Deb,
You’re pretty special yourself. I’m as thrilled as you are.
I’ve already begun brainstorming with another blog idea also. Coming here keeps that creativity going! I’m not even close to thinking about a freelancers blog. I spend a great deal of time reading this one, and others though.
Mariella –
Thanks for the compliment.
) Do you have a blog? It doesn’t seem like the site your name links to is live yet.
Katharine>> I’m actually still working on my web site. Thing is, I’m very specific with what I want so I decided that I wanted to build my web site myself from scratch (since I can both code and create graphics). The link to my name will actually be only one of my network of planned web sites which would include the hub for all my web sites, a “science writer” web site, and three blogs; one for business purposes and two for personal interests.
Thing is, I got inundated with work from a single client last week when I was supposed to start coding. So the project’s been put on hold again and I don’t exactly know when I’ll get free time.
I understand. I’m actually working on some updates to mine right now. Like you, I decided to do mine myself. I know some basic coding, so I borrowed a free template and then changed pretty much everything in it through trial and error.
I like the results much better than my old website, which I’d built with MS Publisher.
Deb I nominated you in their comments but theyre not approving it. Thought you should know.
Katharine>> Modifying templates is my specialty too
It’ll be easy enough if only I have the time. I’m very tempted to hide from all my clients for one whole week so I can get my web sites up and running. LOL.
BTW, do you use a paid server or are you using a free one?
Deb of course! Plus Patti Digh on 37 Days
http://37days.typepad.com/37days/
and Christina Cedeno on Paris Romance
http://christinacedeno.com/
I’ll go vote now!
My website is registered and hosted through GoDaddy. It’s paid. I am very happy with it — the cost wasn’t exorbitant, and the service is much better than my old hosting provider (DotEasy).
Thanks for the tip, Katharine. I was actually already planning on another host but GoDaddy seems to have attractive packages.
Mariella –
Let me know what you go with, and how you like it (once you get started, of course). It’s always good to hear how other hosting providers measure up.
It’s a little more costly than what GoDaddy offers, actually. But it has its own perks.
I’d have gone with GoDaddy’s most basic package, but unfortunately, I don’t think I can host multiple web sites with it.
Deb — off topic but given the long conversation about Laray Carr Publications, I thought you might want to know that they now have a website http://www.laraycarr.net. This makes me feel a bit better — I’ll feel great when the check comes.
Apparently you missed the conversation about their website. Several people noticed some of the photographs were “borrowed” from other publications. Anyway, it is interesting to see the website is live again — it was taken down after we noted the “borrowed” magazine covers, and as recently as this morning, it was still down.
Katharine–
oops, sorry. I was wondering about that. I know the one I supposedly wrote for doesn’t have a cover yet. It’s up now — I would love to know if the covers are the same you saw before.
Thank you Liz for the wonderful compliment.
I want to personally thank each and every one of you for submitting your nominations. Some of you have mentioned that comments weren’t being approved and I apologize because I got back from school a little while ago and so all the comments have been approved. Also, the list has also been updated and currently has about 32 nominations. Some of you had asked so just wanted to inform you that I am a guy however I wanted to give back to the ladies because a lot of “Top 100″ lists are made out which are dominated by men and this was my way of giving back! Thanks once again and I do hope to see you all stop by soon. I will be posting about the update shortly! Thank you once again!!
32 nominations already! That is so great for you Deb! I am so happy to hear that.
Oh, Enkay Blog thank you so much for giving back to the women! It is a great step for womankind in bloggerland.
Good luck on the project, Enkay!
Thanks for coming by, Enkay. Good luck with your project. What a difficult decision you have! I look forward to seeing the results and reading other blogs by awesome female bloggers.
Thank you, gals! To be on just one person’s list of favorites makes it all worth it! Deb is obviously one of my favorites, and the feeling is mutual with Katharine. I visit her blog every day (sometimes twice!). Just discovered Mariella’s site and Michah’s. I’ll be updating my links soon, girls, so drop me a comment with the URL you’d like me to include.
Hi Kathy! Thanks a lot ♥ I’ll drop you a URL (not this one since I’m having second thoughts about using it for my portfolio) soon when my web site goes live
Deb – it looks like we have quite a few friends in common – 4 of my favorite female bloggers are Wendy @ Emoms, Gayla @ MomGadget, Liz @ Successful Blog and Randa @ Randa Clay. All four should definitely be on that list!
