In one instance, I replied and forgot to bookmark the page the ad was on. When I went back 5 minutes later, the ad was gone. Right after that, I got the same reply you showed. I think that the poster changed his/her mind and pulled the ad in such a short time after posting it that craigslist's normal procedure of showing "Deleted by author" was skipped.
