A quick head’s up. Sometime in the next few days, I’ll be moving FWJ to a brand new domain. I’ll let you know exactly when it’s happening and where we’re moving to, in case we disappear from cyberspace for a few minutes.
Thanks for your patience. Bet you’re missing early bird Jodee already, huh? I know I am.

The Creative? Writer post is all over craigslist. I’m thinking spam but don’t know for certain.
Thanks Deb, I know you are really busy right now. If you need any help, let me know. I would be happy to help out.
*raises hand* I can help too in case you’re in need of any, Deb.
I’m having a slow month myself. I hate when that happens!
I sent in to that Creative Writers one just to see what comes back. I’ll let you all know.
Erik>> I hate slow months too. Last time I had one was last July but I guess it was meant to happen because I suddenly got sick. I can’t imagine having to tell everyone I can’t work because I’m down with a nasty flu.
Help! I want to know more about the ForEx job, but I can’t make any sense out of the listing! What’s that nonsense all about? Can anyone help me, because I’ve written about ForEx more than … well, anyone I can think of.
Thanks!
I applied to the academic “editors” job and will let you know if it’s a term paper mill or an otherwise unscruptulous venture! From their website, it looks like this is a legitimate company that offers detailed writing feedback– but I’m pretty wary of these kinds of companies.
Erik
You have to sign up for an account and bid on the job. It says the budget is $20 an article, but the average bid is slightly higher.
Amy:
Oh, it’s one of those. I’ll have to pass, then. I believe in humans working out a deal one on one, no some kind of system. If I was all into systems I’d probably have another engineering job at a big company.
Thanks!
“Seeking Bloggers” is just another one of the hundreds of Craigslist postings by Printnpost.net.
And that site is among the thousands I have come across that want you to provide lots of content merely for eventual AdSense revenue (must set up your own account). It takes gazillions of hits to earn the $100 minimum before payout.
Here’s what you get for the “Creative Writers” posting. Note that it automatically went to my spam folder on Yahoo, so it was mass mailed:

This very minute we urgently need people with basic typing and short creative ad skills.
In fact, we have many projects that we could hand over to you – right now!
You can trade in your commission only job today and be making a great hourly rate by the end of next week.
If you’re interested in earning a regular paycheck, then it’s time you let your abilities carry you towards this great opportunity.
You control your schedule and how much money you earn. No need to wait until a save happens, simply start earning now!
(I’ll save you the url and its redirection)
Re: Here’s what you get for the “Creative Writers” posting.
I guess that’s why the post has already been flagged for removal and then removed. I didn’t even get to it fast enough earlier to see what it said.
Deb,
I was going to email you directly but can’t find your contact info if it’s here (don’t blame you if it isn’t!).
If you need help collecting leads I’ll volunteer to help also. I already collect jobs for a few other sites so it wouldn’t be any extra work for me… although I can’t promise to rise as early as Jodee.
I assume you can see my email address?
Yep. The ‘Creative Writers’ post all over Craigslist is another pay $49.95 for our database of “hot work-at-home” leads. SNORE!
It’s a numbers game, bay-bee!
Well bummer on the creative writers one. Thanks Deb for the long list today.
The About.com job isn’t the only About.com writing gig available. There’s a whole bunch on a whole bunch of topics to be found at http://beaguide.about.com/applynow.htm?dir=racerelations&r=JournalismJobs
Cheers,
Chris
For all of us newbies out there (I have noticed there are more and more these days here) I have a tip! Linda Formichelli & Diana Burrell, authors of The Renegade Writer:A Totally Unconventional Guide to Freelance Writing Success (2003) and The Renegade Writer’s Query Letters That Rock (2006)
will send you 10 query letter formats for free. All you have to do is send a blank email to:
queries@renegadewriter.com.
These are nice to view in order to refresh your memory, or learn for the first time, how to write a query that a magazine will actually read!
Don’t worry, the email tells you that you are allowed to share this info with as many people as you want, as long you credit them!
hi Kat,
Thank you very much! I’m sending them a blank email right now!
Kat—awesome lead on the query letters. Gracias!
De nada!
Yeah! I got one off today’s list! Pays fast to – I’ve never got a client, written an article, and been paid all in the same day! Thanks a bunch!
