It’s an interesting post, and I’ve only looked at a few celebrity blogs and MySpace pages, but it looks like many of them are written by staff.
Have you found any celebrities who post regularly in their own words?
Hi Terry,
Some of them like Wil Wheaton’s are written by the celeb and are very popular. There are a few “studio invented” blogs, but you’d be surprised at how many are written by the actual people.
Deb,
Great post. I didn’t know you were a celebrity blogger. That would be a fun gig.
Terry,
I don’t read many, but I’m pretty sure Emily Bergl (Men in Trees) writes her own.
P.S. I’m thinking Margaret Cho does her own, too. Cool that she’s on the list. I like her.
Hey Deb… thanks for the fun list. I also blog about tv and celebs, so I’m always looking for celeb blogs to check out. I left a comment after your list about Jenna Fischer from The Office — she writes her own blog at http://www.myspace.com/pambeesley. Fun reading, especially if you’re an Office fan!
Hi Deb,
I got a gig around Sept. 4 through your site with a new magazine that is to come out in March called Brave New Girl. The story was due Oct. 3 and I sent it in but have not heard back. Have you heard from anyone else who had a gig with this magazine? I’m wondering if the company has shut down?
Thanks for all that you do!

I liked the Jeff Bridges blog. It was very interesting and had mind games with cards and photography. I visited Wil Wheaton’s also.
Cool list! I remember years ago someone was doing a “fake blog” for Brad Pitt (basically a random person pretending to be Brad). It was seriously The Funniest Thing I Have Ever Read. Unfortunately the powers-that-be got wind of it and it got shut down.
I know a lot of the musicians I listen to have their own blogs nowadays. Those who don’t know country (I’m a pretty eclectic person) won’t know of Little Big Town, but they kind of remind me a little of Fleetwood Mac at times. One of the females in that band, Karen, keeps a blog on their website.
I think it is a much better plan than the stars who either skip it or hire someone. It gives that feeling that they really care about the people who have turned them into celebrities by spending that little extra time.
Great list, but the writer in me has to point out it should be Celebrities who blog (rather than “that” blog.
Thanks for your great websites.
