Bloggers for Hire

When I was at Blog World Expo last week, I had the pleasure of sitting in on Jim Turner and Tris Hussey’s talk about hiring bloggers – and working as a problogger. Both Jim and Tris are with One by One Media and Bloggers for Hire. Both businesses are geared toward matching probloggers with businesses looking to hire bloggers. Jim tells me he especially has a need for bloggers in the personal finance area (personal banking, finance, mortgage…all that fun stuff).

If you’d like to see if there’s a match for you, feel free to contact Jim Turner at jturner@onebyonemedia.com. Tell him Deb sent you.

PS: Jim tells me if he can get bloggers who talk about shoes or celebrity gossip he can have them hooked up with gigs tomorrow.

Shoes or celebrity gossip? Oh, my. My, my, my.

I honestly can’t imagine there is a need for more people writing third hand stories about people as boring as Britney, et al.

Oh the other hand, thanks for the first lead, and if I wasn’t wasting time complaining I’d be on it already! :-)

  2. Amy Derby says:

Thanks for the tip, Deb. Maybe he needs a bankruptcy blogger. :-)

  3. Deb says:

Actually Erik, I have a gossip blog and it’s a lot of fun – it rather lightens up the day. It’s nice to have something mindless to do to break up the monotony. And it’s my highest payer too.

Plus you have to remember, the things that interest you don’t always interest others, and vice versa. It’s all about choices here at Freelance Writing Jobs.

    Have a great day,
    Deb

  4. Deb says:

Sure Amy, lots of good luck to you!

  5. Michele says:

    Hi Deb,

Thanks so much for sharing this info! I’m sending my email now!

    Smiles,
    Michele

  6. Deb says:

    Good luck, Michele!

  7. Erik Hare says:

You’re right, Deb. There are many things about my native culture that I just do not understand. But it is a great tip, even if there’s no way I’d ever make any use of it. That’s what counts ’round here!

  8. Shannon says:

I think Jim’s about to have a full inbox.

  9. Michele says:

    I agree, Shannon. Poor Jim!

    *Giggles*

    Michele

  10. Teresa says:

    Thanks for the tip, Deb!

  11. Amy Derby says:

I was just thinking, he’s going to regret the day he met Deb. LOL

  12. Jim Turner says:

It takes more than a couple of hundred emails to shake me! Thanks to everyone that has responded. I will be contact each of the responders personally, and in fact have a few more job available that have come in since this blog was posted with the celebrity shoe blog. Yes I it is 15 minutes to midnite and I’m still answering the 212 emails in my inbox from earlier in the day, but I will get to all of you I promise. Add in to the mix that my 3 year old son has the croup and my life is just peachy! Hope he doesnt give it to the 2 year old. But then he did get it from the 8 year old or was it the six year old… *sigh* Like I said email is easy.

  13. Deb says:

Wow Jim, a couple of hundred? Wow. Guess my friends really are looking for work! Lots of competition though! Thanks for allowing me to let my regulars know about you.

I’m sorry to hear your kids are sick. My mom had six of us and she said if one got sick she’d throw us all in the same room together so she’d only have to go through it once. And as I know from my five year old, having one go through it is difficult enough. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

  14. T. Nicole says:

Thanks for the tip. I will definately look into this.

  15. Amy Derby says:

Jim, I hope your kids feel better soon. I don’t know how parents do it. I can’t imagine a three year old with the croup. Sounds so sad. :-(

I always dread placing ads for jobs because of the overwhelming response. It’s very kind of you to respond to everyone. Not many people take the time to do that anymore.

  16. Jim Turner says:

Whew, Deb thanks for the referrals. You can imagine the responses were overwhelming. I’m still trying to get to the emails that want work, and I will be making sure that I get back to everyone that responded.
