Did anyone apply for the Child/Nutrition Blogger?

I was just concerned about writing a sample post. I hate to write for free but it sounds like a good opportunity. I had hoped the links to my writing samples would be enough for them to judge my ability. I wondered what others thought about it.
It’s not an ideal situation, but I don’t think of it any differently than having a second or third job interview for a specific position. Giving a specific topic to write a post on is just another way to narrow the many qualified candidates that I’m sure applied for the job. All blog networks are different in their requirements, it seems.
