Greetings from Las Vegas

Good morning, friends. It’s about 6:30 AM in Las Vegas. I got into town late yesterday afternoon exhausted, but happy to be here. I expected to head to my hotel, have something to eat or drink, work part of the night and go to bed early in anticipation of today’s BlogWorld and New Media Expo seminars with b5Media. It wasn’t to be, but that’s not a bad thing.
I was standing at the luggage carousel watching suitcases go around and around when a lovely woman tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I was me. I said I was and she informed me my bag was on its way around. It was none other than b5Media’s Mother Hen, Christina Jones, who recognized me from a photo. We shared a cab to the strip and she took my cell phone number.
Imagine my surprised when a little over an hour later I received a call from my idol, Liz Strauss. Would I like to meet with her and some other b5 bloggers? Indeed I did. After a quick shower and a sandwich I met them in the lounge of their hotel. With Liz was MarJo Manzanares and Leora Israel Zellman and (briefly) Leora’s husband Ariel. All had stories to tell and none were dull. I can’t tell you how fabulous it was to meet these dynamic ladies.
I was so tired from 12 hours of traveling that I didn’t have a drink, nor did I join them for dinner, but I did sit and chat with them for more than an hour and look forward to spending more time with them and other bloggers. I forgot to take a picture though. It’s probably just as well as I have the worst Internet connection ever.
I hope you’re enjoy the great guest bloggers here. It’s always interesting to read a new perspective. More reports are coming from the road. Read them here and at About Weblogs.
