Unnecessary Quotation Marks

You know, these have always been a pet peeve of mine. When I lived in Queens I was forever seeing signs on store fronts with quotations marks that just had no business being there. This is my new favorite stop, the Blog of Unnecessary Quotation Marks. I only regret not thinking of it first.

Wow… the unnecessary quotation marks blog is genius! It is definitely something I would have done, if only I’d thought of it first! I’m always taking pictures of similar signs with misplaced quotation marks, but I haven’t gotten around to posting them. I’ve been meaning to make that a new feature on my blog at some point, but need to get them off our camera first!
Thanks, Deb! I bookmarked it immediately!
This is fantastic.
Too funny. I’m always bothered by the use of ‘n in store and product names. “Nice ‘n Easy” comes to mind. Or the R… “Toys R Us.” Makes me crazy!
Someone also needs to create an unnecessary apostrophes blog. (My personal pet peeve!) I don’t have time…any takers?
@ NancyP: That’s something I’ve been working on, actually! I’m not sure if it’ll just be incorporated into my own current blog, or be a completely different domain, but I just need my husband to teach me how to get photos off my phone and onto the computer. I’ve got lots of photos of misused apostrophes (and more!), just waiting to be shared!
OMG this is hilarious! I love the cemetery one from a couple of days ago. Deb- all your wonderful blog links are making procrastination all too easy. Don’t stop though, it’s great.
This is great. It’s almost as much fun as Chinglish. I might have to use some of it in class.
Hi
“That” is a great “link”. I really appreciate those How-to “sites”.
Thanks
