Sorry, this doesn’t have to do with today’s leads, but I have another question. Do you have any idea what happened to TelecommutingWritingJobs.com? I think this is a website you’ve mentioned on your site before. I check it every day (after this one, of course!), and all of the sudden this week, it sends me to FreelanceBloggingJobs.com. Has anyone else had this problem?

I was there the other day as part of my trolling for leads and the site seemed fine. I had the same experience as you did today, though. No idea what is going on there.

Hi Lauren,
I’m one of the bloggers who used to work on telecommuting writing jobs. I actually helped Jayne create the site, but she was paying four of us to blog and write for her. Indeed’s publishing program brought in some revenue, but she was mostly paying us out of her own pocket.
She finally decided she couldn’t afford to do that anymore. I’ve been agonizing over whether or not I should take over for her, but I just had to make the decision not to. I don’t have the time, and I can’t afford to pay the other bloggers what she was paying us. Plus Jodee does such a great job of collecting leads here that I don’t feel it’s necessary to have another blog dedicated exclusively to writing jobs.
I did decide to take over freelancebloggingjobs.com and just do the work there myself. Surfing the web for blogging jobs takes less time than searching for writing jobs, and I don’t plan to do it 7 days a week (as we did with telecommuting writing jobs). Until the domain name for telecommuting writing jobs expires, it will redirect to freelancebloggingjobs.com.
Probably more information than you wanted, but I hope your questions are answered in there somewhere.

I actually noticed the rerouting a few days ago, as well. My best guess is that the two websites are owned/operated by the same person/people and now they’re being consolidated for some reason. I’d noticed a similarity in design between the sites even before this started happening, which always made me assume they were published by one entity.

I have a question for Jodee: is it possible to submit a posting for your daily roundup of gigs? I check the site frequently for my own use, and my employer is currently looking for freelancers. We’ve posted on Boston Craigslist, but I’d love to get more applicants through your site.
Thanks!
