There is an update to this as of last night. I finally heard back. The person that hired me has since quit the company and failed to tell the company that he'd hired other writers to do his share of the work. So now they have their lawyers looking into the situation to see what can be done. My first print article was with them and a second is coming out in April. The editor is very friendly. Couldn't come at a better time either, the deadline for an article I did for a major train company came and went without them acknowledging receipt of the article and photographs. I've even tried calling her to ensure she received it and wound up leaving a message on the day of the deadline saying I had sent the attachment and four original pictures as required and never heard a word back.
