Oh, and now I feel smart–I scored an A- on the vocabulary. Finally, an ego boost. lol

I love the quotation marks blog, Deb. I haven’t had a chance to visit some of the others, but I’ll be sure to stop back to this post and make my rounds next time I’m feeling grumpy.

So yesterday with all these 2 inch dustings of snow the roads suck. A milk truck goes off the road next to my house. His getting stuck prompted them to shut off things at the power pole for about an hour while they tried to free him from the ditch on the corner. That meant, no satellite TV, no internet, no heat Life in general really sucked. I ended up reading a book wrapped up in blankets instead.

But now the weird funny part, my dad called to complain that his satellite TV had gone out. Sure enough when I had power again, our DishNetwork was out too for a while. I wonder if there wasn’t some conspiracy out there keeping people from normal habits. I think I could live without the TV, relying only on my stereo for entertainment, but the internet and power – those outages always drive me mad. They cost money!

It’s terrible when an internet lifeline goes out.

Though a quick repair is the best option, consider locating a neaby Panera Bread or other free wifi spot (or if you really need it, a spot where you pay a little) that will also let you use a phone (so libraries are out).

More than once I’ve had to go to my satellite office at Dunkin Donuts (local one has free wifi) to conduct an interview (when I needed Internet access, too) or file an article on deadline. With a headset, cell and laptop, it’s nearly as good as being here except when things get very busy (and noisy).
