Company Rumors & News Writer

TrenchMice is looking for freelancers to dig up company rumors and news.
We aren’t list most sites, carrying info about new products, company
financing, or market trends… We’re about what’s going down in the
office, and what it’s really like to work for a company or a manager.
If your friends have ever vented to you about their jobs, you know the
kind of information we’re looking for!

Responsibilities
    * Write about company rumors and news you get from friends,
colleagues, web surfing, or you overheard at a party.
    * Write up interviews with founders or managers of small companies.
Requirements
    * An interest in writing about companies. (Duh!)
    * Good searching skills for personal contact info. (If you had the
name of someone working at firm XYZ, could you dig up their e-mail
address from an obscure corner of the Internet?)
    * Familiarity with alternative search engines and directories,
especially related to industries (e.g., health care) or types of content
(e.g., blogs) is a plus.
    * Very good English writing skills.
    * Agreeing to abide by our “Terms of Use” and “Membership Agreement.”
The cool things about being a TrenchMice stringer
    * If you’re looking to break into the reporting business, you’ll
gain great writing experience.
    * You can do it in your spare time. On your lunch break. At a
coffee shop. At home. In your pajamas.
    * You can even do it while you’re working at another job.
The compensation
    * $20 – $30 per published scoop, depending on length. And company
stock options for multiple months of continuous stringing.
We’ll help you get started with TrenchMice reporting guidelines, sample
interview questions, and example posts.

How to apply
Send your resume and two writing samples to stringer@trenchmice.com. If
you don’t have prior reporting experience, then attach some writing
samples from school.

I write for Trenchmice, and think it’s a great gig. It’s never taken longer for a week for them to turn around a check for one of my scoops, and that’s including the time the check spends in the mail. They’re nice and reliable — the best qualities I think a client can have. :)

I also write for Trenchmice and agree that it is a terrific site. The content is interesting and the pay is practically immediate upon approval since I get my compensation through PayPal. If one of my scoops isn’t approved, the editor takes the time to tell me specifically what he’s looking for so I can do further research or follow another lead.

I’m so glad to have found them.
