there is a misspelling at the very top of this page: in the box where it has the link for http://www.suite101.com – It says Freelance “Wrirting” Jobs. Thought you might want to correct (sorry – my editing background kicked in!)

You guys, I just sent off a handful of responses to job listing this last hour. I had ordered some editing software that can do more than just what Word.doc does. It came in the mail shortly after I sent all of these things off, and I quickly installed it.

When I used my “writing samples” document as my first test of the software, I was horrified to find that my so-called cherry picked articles from my collection had no less than four errors each – including “right of passage.” Ugh! I want to suck up those emails and send each recepient an apology. I’d spouted on about how thoroughly I check my work, too. ;(

I’m just going to pray and look for more leads tomorrow!

Just a heads-up about LifeWire: It’s been advertising for the same copy/line editor positions on and off for several months.

Since there are typically dozens, if not hundreds, of applicants for off-site editing positions, this makes me wonder about the viability of the startup and/or its staff turnover. It doesn’t seem to have its act together at this point.
