The adult industry is under increasing scrutiny, so they need to make sure they’re hiring someone over 18 years of age. I’ve never heard of them doing a background check for any “offender” status. If you’re meaning “offender” as in sexual offender, child porn is illegal, so there are no porn reviews of illegal activities. Those slimey types stay under the radar and wouldn’t want a review. Plus, there would be no site like that to review.

Interestingly, the three porn reviews companies I worked for never asked for my ID. They were overseas, though.

Regarding the license info…I bet they might need to do a background check maybe to make sure the applicant is not an “offender” as that would be against the law for one to work for such a company.

I suppose that those companies need to do everything they can to make sure that they are not employing underage workers. I can certainly understand your feeling uncomfortable about just faxing in a copy of your DL with the information intact.

One thing to note when applying for a porn review writing job is that they will require a driver’s license faxed to them to prove your age. I applied for a job and while I would have faxed a copy of my license with some items (driver license number and month/day part of the date of birth) blacked out, they would not accept it that way, so I didn’t go for it.

That was the second time I have been asked for a copy of my license. I understood their needs, but I still don’t see why they needed the actual month and day when the year is 1970. I also didn’t know why they were so insistant on my keeping the driver’s license number there for them to see.
