Thanks, Deb. I was starting to twitch…
The $.25 word ad from craigslist is back up. HURRY!!
I still can’t apply, darnit…..
Too busy, that’s all – nothing wrong with the ad
LoL @ Krika the comment junkie talking to herself.
Krika? LoL, sorry, Erika.
(Now I’m doing it too
)
Deb Thanks again for these posts. Although I’ve been checking daily, I have not been applying to as many because I am just a bit busy.
I hope that your little guy is doing better. How are you holding up? I guess the “20 cup urn”…should tell me that you must need to stay awake today.
I miss seeing the picture at the top of your site. At least it doesn’t appear when I check your site.
Have a great day Deb.
@ Matt
Well, it’s me and the 4 yr old until the others get out of school. Sometimes talking to myself is my main adult conversation opportunity until my husband gets home!
:clapping:
I need new glasses. I thought that the comments on the real estate ad said “Says Payment is 16 – 16 what? Dollars? Per Word? Per Hour? Sheckles? Puppies?”
I’d write for 16 puppies. :-p
Puppies!
That ranks right up there with that one about Stocks that someone thought was “Unique Socks Options” or something.
I think I’d write for 16 puppies, too.
I don’t mind writing for 16 puppies provided they can pay the invoice when the project is completed in something besides kibble and bones.
Matt, you wouldn’t like it. Short deadlines, boring material, picky editors and low pay. Dog work, mostly.
Did anyone who applied to the .25/word gig get a bizarre and cryptic email from some 53 year old investment banker who doesn’t want to reveal his company name and wants to talk in ten days from London? (Funnily he didn’t want to reveal his company but his “name” is very Googleable and it’s not a company e-mail domain.)
Not 100% sure that’s who sent me this e-mail but the e-mail arrived this morning and reeks of fishy and this gig is the only one I applied to this week. This person couldn’t have found me from my writing website as they didn’t use my listed address so could only have found me from a job I’d applied to OR a job posting I put up a few weeks ago for overflow work.
Just curious.
Dana,
I applied for that gig but did not receive that email. Doesn’t mean it’s not from that. Maybe I wasn’t good enough to get an email without a company name!
Hi Amy,
I’m not sure it’s the same company but I thought it was odd and might be connected as I know some scammers get your attention by trying to convince you the job offer is phenomenal. It was the ‘53 year old investment banker’ that first made me stop and think and the second clue was that the e-mail was really poorly written and there was a degree of secrecy which shouldn’t be the case.
Since I had only applied to this .25 gig I thought it might be connected.
Thanks,
Dana
