Good morning FWJers! I hope everyone had a good weekend. There’s a real mixed bag in this morning’s job leads. I’ve got an opp for a freelance reporter, some blogging gigs, and several content writing jobs. There is an internship opportunity as well. Hope you find something interesting on today’s list!

Leads…

Good Luck!

The gaming and social network might need to be flagged. I sent an email and got a response telling me to join their website and then they would contact me.

  2. J. Edward says:

As a note… the “Writer for Short Film” listing has noted at the bottom, “Compensation: No Pay”.

Any ideas why the position for personal finance and debt writer at American Consumer News would need to be filled by a writer passionate about travel? (That’s what it says!)

  5. Richard says:

@ Edward…I noticed that too and wondered what was up with that.

    Jen and Richard,

I would guess the operator runs other sites and cut and pasted info from a previous ad — I’ve been guilty of not checking closely enough after using cut and paste, so it happens.

Could be interesting…I write on the other side (collections) for my largest client.

  7. Submissions not be accepted at this time for:
Be a BeachWizard (up to $50)

How did you arrive at the .20-.30/word information for adogscaremagazine? The link takes you to their guidelines. The guidelines say that you have to participate (for free) in their forum and then you might be invited to write for them. The guidelines specifically say “It is not a good idea to solicit us for work as a writer. It is a good idea to post your work in The Forum.” And no where in the payment FAQ is there an amount mentioned. Instead they say “e run this site like a business and being the good capitalists that we are, believe that compensation is determined via negotiation. You have a service you want to provide and you believe it has a certain value. We either agree or disagree.” Pretty sketchy.

So where di you get the price per word figure?

  9. Jodee says:

    Tish,

“Compensation: Negotiable but from .03 – .20 per word depending on skill and experience.”

It was listed at the bottom of the ad.

Rock On...
