I think your site is just amazing. I am just starting out as a blogger and a journalist. While looking for freelance writing, one of my friends directed me to your site, and I have found it very helpful. I just wanted to give you the kudos you deserve, and tell you I put you in my links list so others can check out your great references.
Keep up the good work!

I’m pretty much putting a hiatus on applying for blogging jobs. I currently have three blogs of my own and also blog about the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, San Antonio Spurs, unless they deal with something like entertainment or unless they, admittedly, pay well. My wife, who’s not a professional writer but who has more than her fair share of “woman’s intuition”, advises me to limit myself to assignments that don’t expect a novel’s worth of writing for a pamphlet’s worth of pay.
Reminds me of this true story: Weird Al Yankovic is approached and asked to write, compose and produce a theme song for the movie “Loaded Weapon”. The studio nixes the offer when they learn that The Weird One–gasp!–acutually wants to be paid.
One of my blog clients is done for free at the moment–something I normally don’t do but make an exception when I feel led. The site gets traffic, and once the sports season begains, they have told me they will pay me. We’ll see what happens.
Jodee, Deb, again, thank you for this site. It’s been an absolute Godsend, and on more than one occasion the work I’ve gotten here has paid past-due bills and allowed my wife and I to put gas in the car and get much-needed groceries.

@ Richard and Krysta: You are most welcome. It means a lot when someone takes the time to say something positive.
I do like that Weird Al story…the nerve of him, expecting to be paid, LOL! You would think that a movie studio would have budgeted for someone to write the theme song, though.

Weird Al is my hero. The man is brilliant!

I actually saw him live in concert when I was younger. Probably one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.
Deb and Jodee, heaps of praise upon you for this site and everything that’s been said already.

Deb and everyone else,
Happy Earth day! Hope everyone’s been as eco-friendly as they can.

Just applied to the Videogame blogger job! In a bit of a hard spot at the moment as I need some money for a rather long trip in six weeks, which will limit my writing. So in fact, the thing I need the money for is the one thing not helping me make any!
Thanks for the leads Jodee
Sometimes I wish I knew about Poker. There seems to be a position on that every day

the comic book/ web blogger job is perfect for me, but the craigslist email gives me a bounce back.
