I have an English degree(not sure if that helps) and I know a lot about dialysis and transplantation, among other things (I think:-)

Several trade pubs pay 50 cents a word. But they expect quite a bit of experience and subject matter knowledge. However, the number is shrinking as print pubs consolidate.

Would you inform us of those companies that pay $1 and 50 cent a word. I’ve just started working for Demand Studios now, submitted my first article, and I’m looking for more work. I’m new to freelancing. Thanks!

Not only a cool freelance gig, but the guy liked my writing and wants to turn our arrangement into something a little more serious meaning contract! (Do I get a ring? Ha!)

I’m a real person too — not a “sock puppet” (meaning, this note is not fabricated). The job is totally telecommute.

It’s easy to write scathing comments to people who you’ll never meet.

Plus I’m a sahm of five year old boys. I sooo don’t want to go back to work when they’re officially in first grade. I want to be able to drop them at school (if we can still afford gas), get home, put on my slippers, and sit down at the computer and write. Heaven.

And it’s because of you people!

This particular job is right up my alley too, but more important, the response I received from the editor bolstered my confidence, not as a writer, but as someone who can slice through all of the many emails those folks must get and land a job.

Really, I don’t mean to be kind. I’m just being honest. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

We don’t mostly publish on site jobs – these are freelance opportunities and Jodee works hard to bring these opportunities each day. Plenty of people found work through this blog.

I can’t help that there are so many job boards showing the same thing, we can just help to make your life easier by weeding out the scams and the dumb opportunities and presenting you with the best of the bunch.

Fortunately this blog is a free country – if a gig isn’t to your liking you can move on to the next one. And if this blog isn’t to your liking you can move on to one of the copycats.

This is a membership fee disguised as a writing gig. I sent an e-mail and received a link to apply. I visited the link. In order to apply for this job you must sign up for a trial membership for some freelance thing.

I also bet this particular job doesn’t really exist; it’s just an example of gigs you get on the membership list.

This ad should be flagged on CL. Will someone do that? The flagging on my end does not work. This is a case where flaggingn is legitimate.

Should a few of us inform the company of firms that pay $1 a word (I write for a couple), and that there are tons at 50 cents a word (have a few of those, too)?
