For the first time in ages, I opted to lounge in bed until 7am – two hours extra sleep felt fabulous! Especially since it’s done nothing but rain here all week!
I love that proofread a menu job, it’s a big issue around here and I’ve been dining before and actually asked waitresses to ask the manager if they really meant to be serving “stake” rather than steak. (Stowe restaurant really had that on their menu, and the manager knocked 10% off our bill after I mentioned it.
When I saw this ad:
Strange Canadian Weather Author Needed
I thought, “…what the heck, someone’s looking for a strange Canadian? Oh wait…”

Look at all the Canadian jobs! Woo!
Thanks for the listing!
The videology job wants you to post right away. Did anyone give it a try?
Deb & Jodee – some job feedback for you. Remember that celebrity real estate writer post back a few months ago? Well, things have been going swimmingly (they like my work and want me to post more) and I just wanted to say thanks again.
@ Becky: I do remember that one, actually. That’s great news! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Hmm…the Copy Editor for Business Report ($250) ad based out of Austin, TX looks exactly — to the letter — like the same ad based out of Charlotte that I applied for the other day:
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/wri/718242199.html
Haven’t heard back yet, but it’s passing curious.
@ Jason W: A lot of these companies cross post their ads in different cities.
Has anyone applied for these jobs that didn’t live in the area or remotely close?
Hey Nicole –
I applied for a job that preferred SF residents but it wasn’t required. I’m in Southern California but I got the gig.
@Hana:
Okay, well I’ll give it a try, what can it hurt? Thankies!
Hi Jodee
Thank you for the Canadian leads.
@Deb> Well, I was going to say that I figured it out afterwards (”…oh wait that’s Strange Canadian Weather Author…”). Hehe…
Ann G,
You got 10% off your bill for mentioning a mistake? I’ve got to try that!
Yeah Ann, gotta try that too. Keeping my eyes peeled when reading menus from now on. LOL.
Heh, here in Guatemala, you can sometimes get a FREE meal for proofreading a menu in English or translating it from Spanish.
