The ads quality rater at Google should be legit. I’ve been working for Google since last year as a Quality Rater(a different job). For my job, the pay is $15/hr, and they pay weekly. The work at home part is great. Because of a nondisclosure agreement, I can’t tell much about the job.

Google does not give out much information, but the wahm.com board has a thread about these jobs. According to them, you can only work a job two years because it is temporary. Two years is better than nothing.

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who loses track of what I have applied for. I received an automated response today that they were going over applicants and I have no idea which job it was. :0)

i dont know which one it was, one of the newsletteror article writer but i immediatly got a response and it was spam. Sad but true.
I have no idea how to keep track on who I am applying to, i should really keep a file system but since things on craigslist are never specific to who your applying to it gets hard you forget who and what you were applying to!

Not sure if the job is a fake or not, but Cumming is indeed a city in Georgia (not too far from me, actually) so I’m assuming that part is at least real…

Teresa – I think it’s a fake. There’s a guy that’s been posting all over Craigslist recently asking for writers of erotica and then basically looking for phone sex during the “interviews.” If you apply, be wary, just in case it’s the same guy.

I think we’re going to have to get used to that problem with Craigslist. Maybe posters will realize its limitations and potential for abuse and start posting here instead.

Craigslist allows readers to flag ads that do not meet site guidelines. You have three choices, you can flag that the ad is miscategorized, is prohibited (meaning the person hasn’t followed the guidelines to posting in that area) or is a spam/overpost (too commercial or has been posted too much with different area Craigslist pages.)

The problem with flagging an ad is that there is no system of checks. You can go in and flag anything you want without having to really state a reason. Once a few people have flagged an ad, it is taken down from Craigslist and no longer viewable.

They can be flagged for any number of reasons. I know from Craigslist that they remove postings after a few people have flagged them. It can be that the person was running a scam, poor pay rates, postings that are really non-pay being put in the paid jobs area, or just by writers hoping to eliminate competition.
