I am a writer for About.com, part of the New York Times Company. All I said was "I don't understand and I won't be back" initially. Does not sound so bad to me so I won't apologize either. I have had several negative comments in my forums and my emails, for my site on About and for a couple of my blogs. I have NEVER responded to them in an angry manner if I get a negative comment. I welcome all opinions from readers, good or bad. I certainly don't slam people who leave those less than positive ones. The reason, I want them to be back and if I respond nicely to a negative, I may have just won someone over. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, but because this site is public, with public commenting, we are also entitled to our opinion of your post.

Jodee and Deb work really hard on this site and provide all information they are given (or find). It is not their fault if you do not like the information that is available or provided.

Now, if you had come in here and asked:

Hey, I am interested in such and such position but I do not see a link, is one available? Or something of that nature, they would have been more than willing to help you or to inform you that the only contact information they were given was the email address.

Also, think about how most people (maybe even yourself, not sure) might feel if someone came to their site that the majority of visitors enjoy and respect, received a comment like that; which basically states:

Your site sucks, I won’t be back, because I don’t understand how you do things here.
