Oooh, that sounds rather good. Shame I’m an arts graduate!
Byrhtwold,
Just because you are an arts graduate doesn’t mean you have nothing to add to the world of education. I incorporate artist studies into my curriculum every year. We learn about all of the elements of art and then move on to learn about some of my favorite artists. We have studied Jackson Pollock and Georgia O’Keeffe as well as the usual favorites like VanGogh and Monet.
You might be surprised at how easy it would be for you to create artist curriculum and specific lessons for teachers to use.
I am in an IT field, would you be interested with my skills?
Just send your writing on, and we can see what we can do, if your writing is strong, and you have a good grasp of say, the arts, then by all means please apply
This sounds like a great fit! I’m a certified and experienced teacher turned freelancer with over 6 years of writing experience. I’ll send over the requested information.
Sure Barb
I will get back to you soon!
By ‘arts’, I mean ‘arts and humanities.’ Specifically, Classics (Latin and Greek language & literature, ancient history, and both ancient and modern philosophy).
’twas the phrase “the leading Hub for science and technology” that gave me a slight hunch that my particular knowledge-base (the above subjects, plus fairly advanced essay-writing, note-taking, and language learning techniques) might not be suitable.
If any of the above may in fact be desirable, then I will of course apply.
What sort of writing sample, other than a lesson-plan, might be suitable?
Hi actually science and technology are just the starting points Bryn. The Hub I am managing is about teachers, writing about different subjects, lesson plans ab verbatim. I think you would be a great fit so please apply
Anything that showcases a knowledge of teaching and your subject area is fine. Jodee, on a sidenote, you should know that your site generated more apps than craiglist, so that’s good to know writers fyi
And sent. Under a rather less poetic and more personal name.
Hmmm.. reply-email was worryingly typo-ridden, but will plunge in nevertheless.
@ Byrhtwold – I think that was done intentionally to prevent spam robots from sending junk mail.
Hi,
I just applied. I am a writer and a homeschooling Mom and I know a lot about teaching and lesson plans even though I do not have a teaching certificate. Hope that is okay because I really feel like I could do the job.
Thanks,
Alicia
Hi alicia I am going to check my email box. I just wanted to thank everyone who applied, as I receive over 100 applicants, so obviously I can’t accept them all. I did accept 42 so there you go, maybe i can squeeze in eight more
Thanks to everyone that applied. I can’t possibly accept anymore people. Instead of hiring 30 I hired 51 ! Eghads. Ah well means I will hire contributing editors soon. I had to reject around 50 too…PLease stay tuned to see as the channel grows if I can hire some more people
