I am seeking a writer to write, help pitch and hopefully place a story in a national publication about St. Mary’s Bank, the United State’s first Credit Union. This November marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of St. Mary’s Bank.
I am the PR representative of St. Mary’s. We are not interested in any trade publications. Our client is seeking placement in national publications such as the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, New York Times or national magazines such as Time.
Ideal writers would be those who have had success pitching and placing stories to these types of publications.
Other than the 100th anniversary, it’s status as the nation’s “first” and a planned local event in November there is not much in terms of a national scope for this story.
I am open to discussing fees and possible story angles as well as possible media targets.

Anyone want to work together on this? Writing article is a slam dunk for me, but I don’t get involved in pitching. I don’t care about a byline, I have a ton of those. I do a lot of PR support work writing articles like these, but I don’t get involved in pitching and placement.
