FWJ Community Outreach Project: Brag Your Blogs

Tue, Aug 26, 2008

Uncategorized

In the past couple of days I’ve been asked to add blogs to our blogroll and to my RSS feed for consideration in my weekend link love posts. I’m always happy to read other blogs, so that’s never a problem. I also like to help other bloggers to get started.  So here it is, I’m giving you a chance to brang your blogs. Have links you want to share with the FWJ community? Go ahead and post them in the comments.

I’ll start:

Feel free to visit me at the BlogTalkRadio blog.

Also, my sister and I (and a couple of friends) have a food blog called Cookerati geared towards the home cook - nothing fancy but it’s all good.

Your turn! Brag your blogs below.

    I call firsties!

I am Erik Hare, and I’ve had my blog for about 18 months. In that time I’ve built a small local following into about 4k unique visitors a months. I’m very pleased with the fan base I’ve developed.

    http://erikhare.wordpress.com/

I write mainly on the art of writing, culture, the machinations of the standing chimp known as a “human”, and politics. It’s about how the world around us all works more than anything.

I just completed moving to wordpress to build Barataria, a site I am very proud of. I would really like to exchange links with any and all writers trying to use the ‘net to develop their craft. Please write to me at wabbitoid47 at yahoo.com if you want to exchange links. Thanks!

Well I’ve got this blog that probably no one but my friends wants to read, if you click on my name there. There are often pugs in it.

But more to the point, through an ad posted here, I got a gig at this blog:

and I never thanked you. Thank you!

The Seattle Traveler (www.theseattletraveler.com) is a destination blog about my home town of Seattle. You’ll have to read to find out if it really rains here all the time!

  15. nycdeb Says:

I’ve been reading this blog for ages now and loving it the whole time. Everyone here has such great insights and the discussions give me much food for thought.

I always meant to chime in at some point - this seems as good a time as any. I’ve got two blogs - The Fabulous Foodie where I am non-cooking half of a two blogger team and Greater Gotham, my solo blog about living in New York and all that entails.

I started them as a way to teach myself about the Wordpress platform - and they took off from there.

  16. Adrian Smith Says:

I was laid off from the construction industry just a few weeks ago and started this blog in response:

    http://effingbroke.blogspot.com/

I’ve also maintained a blog at my website for close to two years now. It is pretty much filled with insanity and other obscene things.

  17. Sara Says:

I have a friendly herb blog http://www.theherbgardener.blogspot.com/ that I update whenever I have the time. It was featured in the March 31st issue of The Wall Street Journal’s Blog Watch column.

    Thanks Deb!

  18. Robin Says:

    My personal blog is http://www.alittlegreenereveryday.com/.

A Little Greener Every Day is some useful information, some anecdotes, some rantings, and some inspiration from my quest to make my family and perhaps the world around me A Little Greener Every Day. It’s doing fairly well and while I don’t make any money off of it because I choose not to have advertising, I get a lot of free stuff to review. It also is a great place to point to when I’m applying for jobs.

You can also see my stuff at my paying blogging gig at Sustainablog -

  20. violetteb Says:

Well, my writing site is fairly new and is mostly about keeping inspired and moving our creativity in the right ways for success. It is http://writelyapplied.today.com and is inspired by Nellie Bly who said “Energy rightly applied and directed will accomplish anything.”

I also write a women’s interest blog http://bigshoes.today.com that is more social humor, an occasional rant, or to ask the obvious question that noone else wants to ask.

  21. zak Says:

I blog about politics, culture, and career at http://www.schizofrenetic.com.

Some of that content gets syndicated over at http://www.brazencareerist.com

  22. Mer Says:

I started this one a while ago, but found gathering readers to be too much of a chore so I haven’t written in a while. It’s mainly on politics. Mostly with a humorous slant, but sometimes serious.

There are only a few posts so far, but this is my first ever blog so I don’t know if it is something that is worth continuing: http://wowiezarqawi.blogspot.com/

  23. Michele Says:

If you need encouragement, inspiration, motivation, and a cozy writing community, visit my writing blog: Writing the Cyber Highway - http://www.writingthecyberhighway I share ups and downs of the freelance writing life and am told it’s very inspiring and helpful.

Also, I’ve started a health blog: Healing with (Raw) Juices - http://www.healingwithjuices.com. I’ve lost over 100 pounds and have overcome much illness and many surgeries, so I decided to share information on how to improve your health by drinking (raw) juices and smoothies and juice fasting.

  24. Amy Says:

  32. Pam Kumpe Says:

I have a blonde-blog, one filled with fun-light stories, otherwise known as God-light nuggets, the kind that make you smile. I tend to point in one direction (to God), something that keeps it simple for this East Texas woman.

I’m also known as “The Funny Newspaper Woman” who has grammar issues, and can’t decide where to put quotation marks, but my God holds a big eraser and fixes most everything I mess up. Yes, and with a little help from my editor at the paper.

My new book “See You in the Funny Papers” received an endorsement from FMR Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee. He felt sorry for me, and gave me a boost and a kind word. Or could it be, he’s a friend?

Stop by, http:www.pamkumpe.blogspot.com and see how fun it is living for God. Blonde brain cells tend to evaborate, so come early and come often.

Am I the only one interested in sports over here? Seems that way since I can’t see anything that is similar to my blog on Italian football (the real thing…ok soccer for most of you) http://www.ilrecalcio.blogspot.com.

That has been going on for a couple of months now but it the big launch was this week and I’ve hit it with a whole series of previews.

Come and take a look if you want to expand your knowledge of what the game means in Italy. And, if it is England you want to know more of then the answer lies in my other blog about the finest team of all: Liverpool FC. I’ve been running a blog about them for almost two years now and it can be read here: http://www.aliverpoolthing.blogspot.com.

It is a great way of letting off steam…and there’s plenty of that as with any sport.

Please stop by and let me know what you think as I am always looking for ways to improve on it. Plus need suggestions on how I could maybe make some money writing or through use of my site as I am currently looking to get back to teaching. Thanks for reading this and have a great day!
