Thank you for the mention Deb. It has been a fun series to write. Good luck to your two finalists to, this was a tough week to vote because they all had good articles.

Summer's over tomorrow for us. High school starts and then middle school starts Wednesday. I'm still feeling really uncomfortable with this school year. Besides having to spend what I feel is far too much money--we even have to buy some of the text books this year per a notice we received on Friday, so there's more money down the drain--I also have the expense of gas to drive my son to and from high school every day thanks to the cancellation of bus service for high schoolers. While I'm sure I'll fall into a comfortable routine, I'm not psyched over a half hour drive at 7:30 and then again at 2:30 because it's going to cost at least a tank a week and take time away from work.

To offset the increased gas use now, I need to find more work, which means more hours, yet my workday's being shortened for the transport. It's all nagging at me and I'm looking for a job near my son's high school since I'm going to have to drive that way anyway. Sadly, the job openings I've found pay $7 - $8 an hour and involve fast food, something I did as a teen and hated every minute of.

So I have the back to school blues I guess. As for zucchini bread, I learned a trick this summer. Our gas stove uses propane which costs a rocket around here, so I've been doing all my baking in my Crockpot. I've discovered that the Crockpot turns out the most moist, decadent breads and cakes!

Some great sites you have here - thanks for the links. I need to schedule some time to set aside for regular link love. There's just not enough of that going on in my life and there are so many interesting sites out there.
