Zink (zinkmag.com; 200,000 in circulation, 23-32 year old demographic) is looking for culturally-savvy wordsmiths from various cosmopolitan cities (list below) who are passionate about fashion, entertainment, nightlife, fine art, food, spirits, wine, luxury travel and design to contribute to the magazine.

You’re the right person if you:
Are a freelance fashion, lifestyle, entertainment, nightlife, travel, food or fine art and design writer located in Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Kansas City, Austin, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Nashville, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Minneapolis, Denver, Portland, Las Vegas, Providence, Charleston, Savannah, New Orleans, Detroit, London and Paris and are OBSESSED with everything and anything culturally relevant happening in your city.
Find corporate culture abhorrent
Are bored by 99% of magazines
Know that Gawker, Chuck Klosterman and skull insignias used to be cool.
Understand that being creative has nothing to do with regurgitating press releases
Are OCD about comma placement and dangling participles.
We’re sick of reading boring cover letters, so instead, answer these questions in the body of your email. Personality is paramount.
What three blogs are you addicted to?
Recommend 5 outstanding places for dining, shopping and sight-seeing in your city.
What destinations are you dying to write about and why?
What food trend are you currently obsessed with that is sweeping your city?
How would you make a story on vodka interesting and edgy?
What would you pitch as your first Fresh Ink topic?

Please send your resume and writing clips to careers@zinkmediagroup.com with Freelance Writer in the subject line. Pay rate is negotiable.

I’m not hip enough – culturally or geographically…sigh.

    :-)

Hopefully this will be a good lead for someone though. Nice big circulation like that…whoa!

There was a post on Writers Weekly in Jan 2007 with a red flag warning stating that writers should be wary of Zink Magazine. I am not sure if it still applies today?
