Good morning FWJ Friends! I’ve got opps for freelance researchers, fact checkers, and business plan writers for you this morning. There are several leads for technical writers, a biography project, and work for an on-site proofreader. About.com is doing a round of hiring for various channels and there are a few internships as well.
Is today the day you will find your dream job? Do let us know if you get hired for one of these. We want you to do well and we are so pleased when we find out that you have gotten work from one of the leads posted on FWJ. If you need a bit of inspiration this morning, here’s a quote for you from Sidney A. Friedman:
You can achieve anything you want in life if you have the courage to dream it, the intelligence to make a realistic plan, and the will to see that plan through to the end.
Now go make it happen.

FYI I checked out the info on the About.com jobs and in their job post they include a link to their site which lists MANY more positions they are looking to fill (with more details).
About.com is particularly looking to fill the following topics:

Chess
Camcorders
Men’s Big & Tall
Sally Kane, Esq.

I wonder what life is like in Carefree, Arizona. Is everyone untroubled? And is that annoying?
@ Cathy and Cindy F: I’m glad you guys liked the quote – it really spoke to me as well.
@ Skippy: I thought the same thing when I saw the name Carefree, actually! Maybe it’s right next to Pleasantville?
i think it’s near Goodland, Colorado
I live not far from Intercourse, PA. Now THAT’S a town!
(In all actuality, intercourse is probably all that is done there. It’s pretty rural. Guess it could be worse.)
Oh, and down the road a piece is Paradise and the Village of Eden. No kidding.
Georgia has a Climax, which I’ve always found amusing when I’m driving though.
Brandi:
Please tell me you yell “AHHHH!” out the window when driving through…? ha ha ha
@ Angelique: Now I’ve got that song, “Two Tickets to Paradise” stuck in my head, LOL!
I used to work at a mail order company and kept myself entertained by keeping a list of great customer and place names. My favorite town name was Cut and Shoot, Texas. It sounded like a really dangerous hair salon.
Don’t forget Hell, Michigan. To get there, you turn on Church Street (really)!
If you want to check out places with unusual names, pick up a copy of photographer Gary Gladstone’s two books:
Passing Gas: And Other Towns Along the American Highway
and
Reaching Climax: And Other Adventures Along the American Highway
I actually had to do some real estate articles for Carefree a few months ago. Dick Van Dyke lives there. Housing prices are absurd IMO compared to other suburbs of Phoenix and Scottsdale though.
