That guy was declined automatically because I won’t talk if the pay is that low. I’ve had work ranging from $5 to as much as $25 per article. I think it’s tacky for someone to even consider offering someone who’s been writing for more than 10 years. It’s just the fact that I’ve gotten a lot further with jobs that paid me $5 per article with a set with as many as 27-30 articles on a single subject. I check everyone I inquire about a job and if they even blurt out a penny a word then it’s time to pass them over for someone paying actual dollars for a single article. I agree that it is selling yourself short if someone offers you little money for a single article. Have you considered writing for Associated Content? I write for them just to keep a little extra change coming in and Triond and Ground Report are good places to put up work as well to generate revenue from it being viewed on different sites.

You may want to consider writing for sites like Triond or Ground Report to build your writing portfolio or even Associated Content. As you build yourself more as a writer it also helps to give some credentials for you to show employers you are established as a writer. Most of the people who come here are semi-part time or even full time professional writers with at least 5 years or more experience. Be prepared to go through periods where you could be fired from jobs or going through dry spells where work may not be as plentiful. What you want to keep in mind is that a good writer has at least a 2-4 regular clients to keep a steady stream of income coming in. In order to gain experience you have to work from the bottom up. Apply for internships in your local city and do some of those they can help build your resume up. After a while consider setting up your own website and list links of your work published so you can show employers your past work for them to consider you for writing jobs.

Now if that wasnt rude what isnt? This guy acted like I wasnt supposed to ask about the type of work I am doing and guess what he was going to offer as payment for each article .01 per word. I’ve been writing for more than 13 years and I know this fool wasnt about to offer me a penny a word when I should be getting $5.00 or more per article at the most $20-25 per article. That’s the sad reality that cheap fools offer experienced writers when they don’t want to pay them what they’re worth.
