Leaving Las Vegas…

My bags are packed and waiting by the door of my hotel room. In another hour I’ll be in a cab heading to the airport and I can’t wait to fly home and see my family. I’m tired, my voice is gone and I’m feeling a little less than fresh, despite a nice long shower. It’s all worth it though. I had a blast at BlogWorld Expo this weekend.

I enjoyed meeting many of the FWJ regulars and even made some new friends. Some of the highlights of my trip include:

• Meeting and hanging out with David Peralty from Extra for Every Publisher. We sat on a panel together and hung out during a couple of sessions and breaks. Dave’s a nice guy and I know we’ll be friends for a long time to come.
• Finally meeting Lorna Doone Brewer and Tamara Berry from Freelance Parent (what a treat that was). As you no doubt already guessed, they are two of the nicest people you will every meet. Very funny, very pleasant and very patient. They interviewed me at the BlogTalkRadio booth on the last day when I was at my most exhausted. My lipstick wore off, the bags in my eyes were down to the floor and I know my breath was a little offensive from all the coffee but I was so happy to talk to both of these great bloggers.
• When Lorelle VanFossen told me she “loved what I do” I was walking on air.
• I finally met my friends Darren Rowse and Shai Coggins.
• My friend Liz Strauss introduced me to Chris Brogan who is a lot of fun. Wish I had more time to talk to both.
• I finally got to meet b5Friends such as Julie Bonner and Jeanne and Jyle DuPuis.

There’s a lot more and I don’t have much time at this writing. This year’s conference was better than last year’s and 2009 shows even more promise.  When I get back to reality I have a post planned about the benefits of conferences like these. I did a lot of Schmoozing, a lot of hugging and a lot of talking – Can’t wait to do it again.
