@ Rupa is it just sample ideas, or do they want you to write an actual sample on their topics? I always look at the work/compensation v. the time needed to draft a sample. If it’s too involved for too little pay it’s not worth putting much work into, imo. If it’s just pitching a couple of ideas, sounds like it doesn’t involve too much time or effort. If it were me, and I wanted the job, I’d do it.

I applied to the Creative Writer(Atlanta Design Firm) posting yesterday through craigslist, and I received an email today with a list of their ‘real’ projects asking for sample ideas on one or all of them. The ad looked legitimate, provided details, compensation etc…but now I’m not so sure. Any thoughts? Did anyone else try?

I am new to frelancing and am finding a lot of $1 and $2 400 word plus jobs. Do people really expect to get good writing for a dollar? My questionis this: how can I increase my eanrings and chances of getting new jobs? I have quite a few clips but most are from the same project. Should I write some random articles and use them as part of my portfolio? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanx, Daniel
