Regarding the first resume writer position: The job requires applicants to submit their resumes to apply. Obvioiusly submitting a resume is standard application procedure, but am I being paranoid to wonder if they are only going to use my resume as a sample? Other resume writer ads ask to send resume samples, not just your own resume.
thoughts?
It’s no different from submitting sample clips when applying for any writing job. Are you afraid that they’re going to steal your clips and publish them? Submitting your own resume to them helps them in two ways:
1. It, obviously, contains your credentials and experiences.
and
2. It provides them a sample of your resume writing skills.
I wouldn’t worry about it too much.
Thanks for the leads, which are changing in flavor. Have you noticed?
Easier to discern each one individually, used to be that they’d all appear the same.
Hey Guys!
Honestly, I owe so much to Jodee and Deb, you guys are just amazing, and it was through this site that I got a job a few weeks ago with Cell Phones.org. I wrote some articles for them and did a little promotion, and bang, yesterday I had an article end up on Gizmodo.com and send a shocking amount of hits back to the blog (to the tune of 15,000) which ended up crashing the server.
As a writer, I couldn’t be more proud. So genuinely, truly thank you for all that you guys do and the very, very appreciative community you’ve built here.
Thanks!
xAC
(if anyone wants to read the article, i wrote a big post with all the links in my blog.)
@ AC: Congrats on the gig! Crashing the server is pretty impressive – you go girl!
Thanks Jodee!!!!!
LOL – why is the “Kick Butt Writer Needed” poster telling us that HE/SHE loves working with people? Not only is that odd for an employer to say, but it’s an ad for a virtual position!
^ ^ Okay, so “Alicia” would be FEMALE (that’s what I get for making fun of people … LOL)
@ Kendra: Maybe Alicia is trying to say that she a friendly person who considers herself easy to work for/with? That how I interpreted it.
