Online lesbian and bisexual magazine Lesbilicious.co.uk requires freelance writers to write original articles of between 500-1000 words. We prefer thoughtful, well-researched, question-led articles written in the third person (eg ‘Why do lesbians hate bisexuals?’ ‘How to fine-tune your gaydar’) but interviews and reviews are also acceptable. Sorry but we don’t publish fiction. All articles must be original and not published previously, either in print or online.

Lesbilicious is based in the UK and our primary target is UK readers. We welcome writers from outside of the UK, but please avoid writing about issues that may not be understood by UK readers. If in doubt, please check with the editor first.

To pitch a story, write to editor@lesbilicious.co.uk with your article idea. The pitch should be at least a paragraph or two long, and as well as selling your idea it is your chance to show off your writing skills, so please take care with spelling and grammar. Please remember that Lesbilicious is an online magazine for lesbian and bisexual women, so only pitch ideas that will be of specific interest to lesbian and bisexual women. It sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised at what we get sent…

Please don’t send CVs as we care about fresh ideas, not heaps of experience. We will endeavour to reply to all emails, and so if you haven’t back within 2 weeks feel free to send a reminder.

We pay a flat fee of $40 for articles, plus a bonus of $60 for hitting very reasonable pageview targets, so this will suit writers prepared to do some light online promotion for their articles.

Feel free to get in touch for more information.

Even though I’m not exactly in this publication’s demographics (straight American male), I just made a pitch to it. I’ll let you know how it goes. :)

@ Mordecai: Sounds good! Speaking of demographics – Did you see the ad from Hooters magazine? They are looking for columnists. :)
