I can’t find how to actually e-mail writing samples to the ad for the personal development blogger. Any suggestions?
I woke up to 8 degree wind chills and appreciate hot leads and smiles over the weather out there! That said, time to get another cup of coffee and get to work stoking the fire and trying to get articles done at the same time!
@ Paul: You could paste the text into the body of your e-mail, or provide links to your work if it appears on a web site.
The review writers ad is a scam. They’ve been posting it on every city’s Craisglist page. When you reply, they send you a generic email asking you to register at their shopping site.
@Jodee: I could if I had an email address to send it to
It’s the destination that I can’t find. Maybe I’m just missing something obvious, but I can’t find where to send it.
Paul, I couldn’t find it either..
About the Personal Development Blogger job…no luck here either.
The posting said Nethead is looking for a Personal Development Blogger. So I googled Nethead and found Nethead Communications. I emailed joe at nethead dot com (the CEO) but he responded that it’s the wrong Nethead. Said he’s looking for work, too!
@ Paul and kyo: I’ve e-mailed let Problogger.net know there is a problem with the ad. I’m over there on weekdays looking for leads and will keep my eyes peeled for contact information for this one.
For the personal development blogger job… There is a link at the top of the page for contacting Darren. Here is a direct link to the contact page: http://www.problogger.net/contact/.
He does make a note about not replying quickly. Since it is a form, you will likely have to do links or request an address in which you can send attachments. Good Luck!–mel
@ Kelly: Did you tell him to check out our leads?
Umm, I didn’t contact him, I just saw the link at the top of the web page. Sorry.
I inquired about a job. They got back to me and apparently want people to write product reviews. It sounds like they pay a lot which is rather unusual from my experience. They’re willing to pay $10-$20/review and they will allow up to 8 reviews a day. Just seems a little too good to be true. But they want me to register with the site. It is a health site. Once I register then they’ll give me more information. I don’t know, I just feel suspcious about this one. What do you guys think?
Just an FYI, I have been writing for Bright Hub for about 4 months and everyone over there is great. Depending on the channel, you can usually write as much as you want and you are paid each month. If you fit one of their categories, be sure to check it out.
Comic Relief: Craigslist ad of the day:
Freelance Writing – Daily Work & Daily Pay
Looking for a content and article writer with experience. Needs to be able to write about many different subjects, small amount of research may be necessary. Use of keywords and SEO a must. No plaigerism. Articles will be passed through Copyscape. You will be an independent contractor. Articles of 550 words will pay $6 per article. Work will start immediately. Pay will be immediate upon acceptance of article. This is long term.
Please send cover letter with short list of abilities and interests. Attach one article which shows example of your writing skills.
A lot of people like to send me their resume and then flag my post for removal. I check my ads often. If your email to me comes around the same time that my ad is flagged, or within a few hours, I will not accept your application. Trying to cancel out any other competition is not the way to do business with someone.
Send to: partnershipmktg@aol.com
it’s NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
Compensation: $6 by paypal per article
And just in case any of you missed the point – WOW, is that ever a lame ad!
I particularly like the fact that this guy is assuming that the only possible reason his posts are getting flagged is by cheaters who are trying to cut out the competition… I imagine there must be a stampede of folks out there willing to work for this nice publisher for the fine wage of $6 per article of ORIGINAL WORK ONLY, and the only thing standing in their way is the cheaters out there that flag his posts…
The even more sad thing, the compensation of $6/SEO article is better than a lot who want to pay $1-$3/article.
I always question ads where they want you to send a full assignment as an sample. I imagine you get enough queries with samples, you don’t actually have to hire and pay anyone.
Finally, this guy must be with a truly up-standing company he is using AOL for his email in 2008.:O)
Hey Jodee! Thanks again fro the wonderful leads!
So are you guys ready for turkey day???
I really want to cook up something different as a dish but can’t think of anything outside of a string bean casserole–any ideas?
Thanks for the great leads Jodee! BTW has anybody heard from StorySomething? They were looking for children’s stories and the lead was posted here a couple of weeks ago. I got an initial response, but things have not progressed much since so I just wanted to check with other writers here.
Re the Personal Development Blogger ad: I heard back from Darren Rowse and he has updated the ad to include contact information. Click on the link to check it out.
@ Alicia N: You are most welcome for the ads. You might want to check out Deb’s food blog, http://wwww.cookerati.com, for recipe ideas. She has some great stuff posted there!
I meant leads….sorry….need more coffee this morning…..
@Alicia N: Because turkey’s been so inexpensive around here (40 cents a pound), I’ve been buying them like crazy and tucking them into our freezer. One turkey can feed us for a week. I’ll take the meat that is left over and freeze it for later use and then take the rest and turn it into stock for soups.
Anyway, one of my favorite dishes, my mom makes it every year, steam an entire cauliflower head intact (don’t separate it at all) and then while that’s steaming, make a roux (flour and butter) slowly add milk and grated cheddar. Basically pull any recipe for the cheese sauce for homemade mac and cheese but half it. When the cauliflower has steamed, put it into a baking dish and cover with the cheese sauce. Grate addition cheese over that and then sprinkle on some bread crumbs and bake it until golden on top.
