Freelance Writing Jobs for Wednesday, November 5, 2008

by Jodee Redmond

Good morning FWJ Friends! I’ve divided the opportunities for today into different categories. There were enough jobs for bloggers that I’ve put them in a separate category for today. The site specific jobs are ones where the employer is looking for candidates from a certain area, but they aren’t necessarily on-site jobs.

I hope you find something that suits you to a “T” on today’s list.

    Thanks Jodee!
I’ve seen a few jobs lately writing for life coaches – which is great for me since I’m also a certified life coach!

  2. Ann G. says:

Thanks! There are a few possibilities in here.

I found another one while looking at job boards today that I’d love if it was in my location. Nielsen is paying $14 an hour to those in the Manhattan area, not great pay for NYC based on what my nephew pays for rent, but for a mom who wants something to do while the kids are in school (like me) it would be a nice change of pace. You have to work from their offices listening to the radio and then create surveys based on the material you listened to.

Thanks for the post. Although the date is November 5th — I don’t mind — Oct 5th is my birthday! I relived it briefly.

  4. Phil says:

Nothing for me today, but the gaming item from yesterday did ask for my rates — and this was from a CL ad!

I’ve written in the two areas the client desires, but it depends if they’re looking for quality or low-ball rates.

  5. Genesis says:

Thanks, Jodee! I love having everything split up like this.

  6. Ann G. says:

I’ve heard back from one of them already, so my morning’s off to a good start. Add in 65 degree weather in Vermont in November no less and sunshine!

    Thanks, Jodee!

  7. Allena says:

Deb- Just came over to see if you picked up that the Webby Awards is hiring reviewers. Copywriters (even new ones) are likely to get hired. It’s a great gig – this would be my 4th year.

Also, the link to this post says October.

  8. Fiona says:

Allena – where can we find more info about the Webby Award position?

  9. Michael says:

    Hi Jodee,

Nice new organization. But my Subscribe button at the top right is grayed out. How do I subscribe?

    Best,
    Michael

  10. Tasha says:

Thank you so much for seperating the jobs into sections! it really helps every day i browse through!

    Awesome!

  11. Diana says:

I have to say, I think this new format is pretty darn cool. Great job! :)

  12. For the job entitled Freelance Fashion/Lifestyle Writer/Blogger for Website there is no email listed. However, the craiglist link is http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/wri/899507919.html

  13. Jeremy says:

One other request… if you have the time, sorting them into “high-paying”, “low-paying” and “non-paying” jobs would be awesome…

  14. Erin Kirkland says:

Thanks so much; appreciate your efforts.

  15. Jodee says:

@ Jeremy: Unfortunately, not all the ads have the rate of pay listed. All of the jobs that are posted here pay a minimum of $10; if a low or non-paying one sneaks in there, it’s either because the ad is unclear or I goofed. (It happens when you get up as early as I do to troll for leads.)
