  1. Erika says:

Whoa, Jodee. You were bu-sy this morning! Great list to start the week.

  2. Jay says:

This website is the best! I appreciate the advice, encouragement, helpful tips and, most of all, the leads. Jodee, you obviously live in a C O L D climate – brrrr! – and I’m in Florida, so I’m sending you wishes for some balmy 70 degree temps like we’re having here (I’d gladly trade places for a week; some nice cold weather and a bit of snow would be fab). Thanks for all you do.

  3. Dawne says:

    Yay, thanks Jodee. :)
Just thought I’d let everyone know, I’ve checked into The Daily Sponge before and their compensation is actually per view. (unless changed in the past few months) Anyways, just thought I’d share that! :)

  4. S. says:

Did anyone else apply for the jewelry blogger positions posted yesterday? I got a response right away asking me to register for the site and give a review of the interface. The assignment is tiny, but why would I need to register and give a review of that? I think they may want people to “sign-up” and then say no one was right for the job.

Deb – I’m sure to you checked carefully when posting that job, so please assure me that I’m wrong.

  5. Rhonda says:

It’s a New Year, and I’m getting back into the swing of writing after taking a break after baby #2 came in the fall. Thank you, Jodee and Deb for well-organized site and all the job lists.

  6. Kristy says:

Great list Jodee! One question, though. The Ottawa job for US Magazine needed a freelancer on Friday to work through today. Do you have other information indicating that they are still in need of a writer? Thanks!

  7. Jodee says:

@ Kristy: oops…I missed the part about dates. Saw the location and compensation and started thinking about how I wish I were there right now…..found that one toward the end of my online travels and I guess I wasn’t as sharp as usual. Sorry about that.

  8. Anne G. says:

@S – The email address turned me off a bit – his name with BS after it. Then the fact that I’ve seen a very similar ad posted repeatedly for the past few months and it asks you to sign up for some auction site that never leads to a job.

I did apply just to see if it is the same scammer and I got an email back saying that the Gmail account had been closed.

  9. mel says:

Jodee mucho thanks for the great stuff and all the hard work!

Did anyone else look at the Barbie Media link? They ask for an email address and password to view content.

  10. Chris says:

A word to the wise on the “Mountain Bike Writers” ad–that site isn’t really too keen on paying. I contacted them back in the fall and was told that they don’t usually pay for articles. I told them I wasn’t comfortable and offered some rates and never heard back, except for an occasional random email for a “writing contest” to win bike gear. When I can pay bills in mountain bike pedals, maybe I’ll reconsider.

What really irritated me about this site was that it appears to be run by a marketing company advertising a bike retailing service. So basically they’re looking for writers to contribute to their forum for free and provide some legitimacy for an otherwise transparent piece of advertising so that they can sell bikes and the writer can make NO money.

  11. mel says:

I have got stop reading things too quickly… If anyone else wants to know, burbia media is looking for articles about living in the ‘burbs. They do not want on-going columns.

  12. Thanks for the opps. Jodee.

  13. Kenna says:

Great list Jodee. I’ve been busy writing and took a break from the day to see your site. Have a great week!!

  14. Kristy says:

No worries, Jodee! Thanks for getting back to me!
