Good morning FWJ Friends! I’ve got leads for marketing writers, medical writers, multicultural report writers, technical writers, and proofreaders for your consideration this morning. A client is looking for someone who can blog in French, and some internships are also listed.
Some of the jobs marked “site specific” may be from clients who would be open to considering telecommuters. If you are interested in the opportunity (and they don’t need someone specifically on site), it wouldn’t hurt to send in your resume and some samples.

Thanks for today’s list Jodee – some interesting looking opportunities.
Yesterday I received a contract for a magazine that I found looking for writers here a few months ago, so that you Jodee and Deb!
Thanks Jodee. Keep up the fantastic work!!
hi, I was searching online and found your site. I’m looking for free – lance writing gigs and don’t know how to get into this. Can you help point me in the right direction? you have tons of leads but not sure what to do to get started.
thanks, I do like that you are doing this blog.
@Dana. I suggest begin by writing, put together some of your writing that you might could submit to magazines. There are tons of magazines that take mostly freelance work. You can find these under “Monday Markets”. Get some stuff online and then apply for jobs. You may have to stick at it for a while before you get any type of encouraging response. This is a great place to start though. I hope this helps.
Thanks for this wonderful forum! I got some freelance writing gigs through this site.
I have one sad quirk of fate, though. Sometime in October 2008, I replied to a writing ad here. ( The employer’s email address is tommy@glasgow.com but please don’t show this email address)
I got a 15-article writing contract and I was paid promptly.
Then the same employer told me to write some more. I wrote 5 articles and they promised to pay me last December 2008 yet. But until now, they ignored all my request for payments.
They no longer reply to our usual Skype communication, nor through my repeated emails.
I don’t want to bother you, folks, but I fervently hope that Deb or Jodee could look into this.
Thanks in advance!
just vouching for the Current Events. excellent client.
I seem to be just a step away from getting hired for a great blogging gig I found on here last week. Great leads, guys. This looks to be interesting and with a fair rate.
There is good work out there to be had – Thank you!
@Arlyn:
two points. 1, if you don’t want something to appear online, don’t post it here – no one is going to make it “not appear” when you post it. 2, Deb and Jodee have some ideas about how to deal with deadbeat clients, but it’s not their responsibility to look into it for you even though the gig was posted here. Each freelancer is responsible for his/her own business dealings, including collections.
This portal has some good discussions of freelancers’ business issues. Explore – perhaps you’ll find some tips to help you run your business.
hazel,
Thanks for the reply.
But I came across a site ( I can’t remember it now) run by Deb where she asssists freelance writers in collecting payments from recalcitrant or non-paying employers.
If I remember it right, Deb’s site contains Writers’ Alerts, Warnings, or something like that.
I am aware that Deb and Jodee is a very busy person. I wouldn’t really impose on them.
But Deb and Jodee have soft spots for newbie freelance writers who are taken advantaged of by unscrupulous non-paying employers.
They are the only hope of helpless writers like me who had already exhausted all possible means of collecting payments but still got no results.
I’m just fervently keeping my fingers crossed.
Anyway, thanks Hazel!
@ Arlyn: I think you are looking for Writers Weekly. Here’s the link: http://writersweekly.com/whispers_and_warnings.php
Jodee,
This is indeed the site I have in mind.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much!
