I’m getting my spring vibe. To me, spring means new beginnings. My world takes on color and new meaning. I’m inspired and the new ideas come in droves. I ask you, what can more stimulating and encouraging than seeing the crocuses come up or forsythia buds on the bushes. My winter blues over, I become alive and can’t wait to begin my day.
What does spring mean for you?

How are you liking your weekend leads? I’ll do this when I can to make Monday’s load a little lighter. Keep your success stories coming!

Lucky you for getting a taste of spring weather. Up here where I live (not to far from Jodee) winter–like the last guests at a party that’s gone on far too long–refuses to leave.
Spring means planting seeds for my organic vegetable garden indoors; lots of rain outdoors; turning off my 52-year-old furnace that, miraculously, has kept us warm through another biting winter; and, when April showers start to bring May flowers, badmninton in the backyard!
Thanks for the job postings today, Deb–glad spring’s breathing fresh life into your world!

Hi Deb,
Just wanted to give a vote of confidence to the Smart Life ad. I’ve written for the Smart Life blog and cannot say enough nice things about the blog owner.
Chris is great to work with and appreciates and acknowledges the efforts you put into your work.
Thanks for the sunday tips.
Hi Deb, thanks for the nice Sunday bonus! Lots of great leads for me today. I’m finishing off my degree but filing for permanent residency in the US, so it feels like a new beginning for me, too
FYI Copywriter NYC job gives misleading details – it says send pricing details and they on the bottom of the ad it reads “no pay”???
The “Writers for Content Development Team” pays very low–$125 for 50 reviews or something like that. Ouch.
The Short Descriptive ad requires samples. I’ve applied for this job in the past, did the required samples and never heard another word. Wasn’t sure if I just wasn’t a good fit, but a number of friends told me they experienced the same thing. So I’d be cautious.
Also, I’m not sure which day it was last week, but there was an ad for writers for an up and coming magazine Valley Scene. They ended up hiring every applicant they had. The editor told me 200 people. The jobs are pick and choose, first-come, first-serve, and the majority pay no more than $10 for 500 to 1000 words. So low pay and the competition to actually get an assignment is fierce.
Thanks for the Sunday leads, Deb!
@Therese – on CL if you don’t specify how much you are intending to pay, or a range, their system automatically puts “no pay” in the “compensation” slot at the end.
@JuliaJolie – congrats and good luck! hope it all works out for you.
Nice surprise this morning, like a spring flower. Have a great week everyone — it all begins with a word.
@Deb: great work getting the ledes out Sunday.
@Anne G: thanks for the heads-up.
Heritage Solutions has a little bait and switch going on in their advertising. They offered me a job and rates were nowhere near what they said. I turned it down.
@Ed – You’re welcome.
While, I’m at it. There is another ad I answered over the weekend looking for full-time writers for $15 an hour (Chicago Craigslist). Got the response today telling me that you have to go sign up for an account at some dating site and then send a sample review of that site. It’s that same scam that’s been making the rounds for the past few months.
@Hazel: Thank you!
karen, thanks for the tip about Heritage Solutions. I’ve been meaning to apply for the gig for a while. I guess I’ll pass on it now. You saved me some time.
