Freelance Writing Jobs for July 14, 2009

Last week, after Media Bistro tweeted out our link on Twitter, the server crashed. Yesterday, after Brian Clark tweeted out a link, the same thing happened. Our host gently suggested it’s time for us to seek a host who is more equipped to handle our traffic. “Deb,” someone asked me. “why aren’t you banging your head on the desk and crying?”  I could have done that. After all, we’re talking serious downtime and loss of revenue. The way I see it though, there are no setbacks, only opportunities. FWJ having so much traffic it busts a server isn’t a bad problem to have. I’m using this situation as an opportunity to better build and grow this network. Banging my head against the desk will only lead to a headache.

Problems only turn into situations if we let them. Turning them into learning experiences is a far better way to handle it.

How do you turn lemons into lemonade?

  1. Chris Mc says:

#14 is for NY metro residents only. Wanted to save others time. Thanks for your work, Deb.

  2. Lisa says:

I think it’s awesome that your server crashed! It goes to show you how valuable you are, so much so that your host can’t handle the traffic!

  3. becky says:

    Glad you all are back!

For the courthouse researcher job @ deedcollector – I’m pretty sure that’s just going through records and looking at new warranty deeds. It’s pulling public records and I wouldn’t really consider that a writing job.

(I have family who work in a county recorder office, so I’m familiar with the records and what usually gets researched there.)
