Freelance Writing Jobs for Monday, July 27, 2009

Good afternoon and welcome to another Clean Slate Monday. How will you start fresh?

In our quest to further monetize FWJ , we’ll be introducing various premium services from time to time. Don’t worry. They won’t change a thing – you will still be able to read your job leads and informative blog posts for free. This service will always be here for you!

We will also continue to bring you job leads exclusive to the FWJ community, however, we are giving the people who place these ads the option of having their ads as the top page on this blog for a full week if they wish to pay for the privilege. So from time to time you may see the same post at the top of the blog for for a week or longer. All sponsored posts will be marked so you know it’s from a paying client. You will also still be able to see brand new posts and leads – they will appear underneath the premium post on this blog’s homepage. This won’t affect those who read FWJ via a feed at all.

My son has a morning activity so leads will be a little later than usual for the rest of this week. Thanks so much for your continued patience as we work around a summer schedule.

  1. Anne G. says:

The freelance writer for articles listed by Clarity Digital Group takes you to Examiner.com once you’ve registered with the Beta. So it may be a waste of time for those who don’t like Examiner’s pay.

  2. Fiona says:

Deb- you weren’t kidding when you said on Twitter that it would be a BIG list!

  3. Leslie says:

Thanks Anne, go point. This is great website for people looking to get starting and for those who are looking for more work. Keep up the great work.

  4. igc blogger says:

Deb, echoing everyone else, thanks for all your hard work. If time permits, could you double-check the URL for #2 under Proofreading and Editing Jobs [Freelance Legal Editor – Kaplan Test Prep]. The link yields a 404 error. Have a good day.

  5. L Joseph says:

Back in August of 07 you had a lengthy post about potential scammer, Laray Carr. I have new, updated information that would be very worthwhile to writers. Your Contact Us button is not working. Please email me so I can advise you of the newest scheme of this individual(s).

  6. mel says:

Awesome leads! I am so glad that there were two K-12 opportunities (not that you control this :) ).

    As always, mucho thanks!

  7. Donna says:

Deb, GREAT list, thank you so much for all you do. What a blessing you are to so many. Glad to see you are going to further monetize. Very exciting.

For my Clean Slate Monday, I finished up a nagging item on my To Do list, an easy “almost writes itself” article that I’d been putting off. “Oh, I can finish that later,” I kept telling myself. Well, deadline’s Thursday, time to finish! All done except a final review (tomorrow, when eyes are fresher), formatting and then submitting. And I was reminded today of a piece I’ve been wanting to write for a while, but have been busy with other projects. Something fired me up a while back and it’s time to let it out. I call it a “ranticle.” Hoping to get that started in the next couple days.

Thanks again for all of your hard work and dedication to this site. It is such a valuable service that you provide.

  8. Monday isn’t “Monday” for me. I work different days of the week, depending on my wife’s schedule. I very much just work whatever day of the week I feel like it. Last week, for example, I didn’t do any writing on Thurs, Fri, or Saturday, because I was helping her paint a couple of rooms at her mother’s apartment down-town…which made money just the same. Then I write a couple of articles on Sunday over the course of a few hours, and came back and did more on Monday…and I’ll keep on cruising.

The best part about freelancing is you don’t have to be locked into that whole “traditional” schedule of 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, especially if you allow yourself the opportunity to experiment a little with what is “traditional”. Of course, it all depends on the individual. Some people like being slave to the clock. I prefer flexibility. Working when I want, from where I want, and the ability to have my “Monday” be whatever day of the week it needs to be.

That being said…I actually treat almost every day as if it’s a Friday :) It’s a hell of a lot of fun!

  9. Victoria says:

Thanks for the leads, I always feel more motivated when I come accross some interesting job descriptions!

  10. Phil says:

    TW

I agee. I just work the days that end in “y”. :)
