I suspect the day of totally free content will come to close faster than people think.

When everything is free, what has value?

It annoys me that 11 years of higher education training in how to discern the bull from the bullsh*t is now regarded as superfluous. And it is superfluous if nobody will pay for it!

Hey Deb;

This is a great article with some wonderful tips. As a movie critic it's a constant tightrope to keep your three points all in check. But, I think Michael Uslan, Executive Producer of Batman movies, said it best when I asked him to write the foreword for my first movie review book. He said he couldn't do that because the studio would frown upon it if he endorsed the book, but I then panned one of his movies. From that point on I decided I would try to always stay balanced and not go overboard on a review, even if I like those involved.

Thanks again for the great post!

Great info, thanks... I just want to add that excessive coverage of a certain company or product, even if objective, may come across as promoting them. Diversity is one key to objectivity.

Once again, great post. I know I for one have been one-sided on a particular topic, maybe not to a negative standpoint, but one sided. I appreciate the thought you put into your posts and the way they give us all a little wake up call.

Thank you

I like your advice here, Deb. I'd rather read information and advice from an objective source any day over rants and negativity in the form of expert knowledge.
