New Literary Magazine Seeks Short Story Submissions – $50

The New Professional, a contemporary, Washington, D.C.-based literary magazine, is seeking submissions for its inaugural issue, launching Spring 2010.

The magazine will include essays on a variety of topics, from art to music to politics to pop-culture. There will also be a short story section, for which we are seeking submissions.

The New Professional is a print magazine, with an online component. Therefore, if your story is chosen, it might be accessible online as well as in print.

All topics are fair game, but priority will be given to those who think outside the box.

There is no specific word count, but please try to limit submissions to eight single-spaced pages.

If your story is chosen, you will be compensated. The specific amount will vary depending on how much additional funding is received in the next few months, but expect to receive no less than $50.00.

For the literary-minded folk, this first issue will include an exclusive interview with David Leavitt, one of the best and most well respected short story writers of our generation.

Submissions can be emailed to:

Or to:

We hope to hear from you!
