Freelance Writing Jobs for December 11, 2009

I’m sure there will be more leads after the holidays. These are short lists partly because there aren’t as many decent offerings as we lead up to the holidays and partly because I’m kind of busy and haven’t been spending my usual three hours trolling for job leads. Oh and partly because I’m celebrating because Mr. Ng is no longer unemployed.

I hope I’m still bringing you the best of the best.

  1. Phil says:

Congrats on spouse getting a job. Even though my wife brings in a lot less than I do, we certainly felt it when she was unemployed for a while last year.

  2. Stefanie says:

I work in local TV news, and “hyper local” isn’t even on my station’s radar as far as I can tell. But we did take a stab at “citizen journalism” which, I think, is pretty much the same thing. I looked at it as just another attempt at downsizing in a bad economy, by trying to get airable video from people they didn’t have to pay. It didn’t work.

  3. That is wonderful news Deb. The best of luck to him. I am sure the pressure has reduced for you and you deserve to celebrate.

    Thanks for the leads too.

  4. Kathleen says:

Woohoo! That’s great news! Tell him congrats. I bet he is so happy. :) Mine found full time work too and it is such a relief. :)

  5. hazel says:

Having two earners is much better! Congrats to you both!

  6. Congrats on the hubby’s job! And thanks again for the leads!

  7. Carson says:

    WTG Mr. Ng.

  8. Caitlin says:

Congrats for employing the mister! :) And I have a random question that I hope someone could help me with! I have an assignment to do some Ad Copy and know I can do the writing but I have a question that is actually kinda embarrassing. What do I send into the client? I’ve been doing article and blog writing but this is my first Ad Copy one. Do I write what the ad should look like into the email? Do I set it up on a word document, and then what about pictures? I’m sorry to sound like an idiot, but I just wasn’t sure what the standard process is here! Any help would be much appreciated as they want this back ASAP and I’m freaking out!!

  9. Anne G. says:

@Caitlin – It’s been a while since I did any ad copy work, but the company had me do the ad copy in Word using their specific website format and then submit it as an attachment.

The only other ad copy work I did was for a holistic health company who were opening an Amazon storefront. They had me upload it straight to their Amazon page.

    • Caitlin says:

Thanks Anne, it turned out that they wanted it submitted in a Word format, so you were right on the dot! Thanks for helping me out, I didn’t want to look unprofessional and turn in something in a weird format! :P

  10. Jodee says:

Wonderful news about Mr. Ng! Congrats to him!
