It’s Sunday morning as I start this post. I have some time to spare this week and I’m using it to get ahead. To me, there’s no better feeling than knowing I had a productive day. Actually…there is something better – knowing that I’m ahead for the week and I can take it a bit easier and put in extra time on a few projects. To be honest, finding leads is the most tedious part of the day. It takes two to three hours to get it done every morning. That’s why I try and get as much done the night before, so my whole morning isn’t spend doing the job search. It’s not that I don’t enjoy it, but I do like to get it out of the way so I can work on other fun stuff.
Premium Job:
Dear FWG readers,
I need talented writers for putting together entertaining informational articles across a wide variety of subjects – from portable air conditioners to swimming pools, and everything in between. The ideal applicants will be able to conduct research and write about often potentially bland subjects in and interesting, engaging manner.
Please also do not apply for this position unless you are able to produce at least five to ten quality articles per week (with a minimum of 500 words each).
If you think this sounds like you, please send me an email at [email protected] with a short paragraph about yourself and your background, as well as any experience you have in the freelance writing field (if applicable).
Thanks,
Jonathan

Thanks for the leads, Deb! I just submitted an application for the Valley Media content writer position and got an email back with more details, and I wanted to let everyone know that they are only offering $4.00/hour for 400-word, “low-research” articles.
I have no desire to start the “Great Rate Debate” all over again, and I’m sure some people can churn articles out fast enough to make it worthwhile, but if you’re not one of them, I don’t want you to waste the 5 minutes it takes to submit an application.
Wow…okay, I am obviously not caffeinated enough-that should read $4.00 for a 400 word article, not $4.00/ hour! Sorry.
If I don’t say it often enough, Deb – thank you. Two to three hours of your day, every day, to produce a list that makes MY life more convenient is a gift you give me every day and I did not realize that. It’s a gift you give every one of your readers. Thank you.
That’s nice of you to say, Jeanne. I hope you know that wasn’t a complaint. I really do enjoy searching for leads and posting them here It just takes some time.
Oh my gosh, I think I saw that first, you-must-be-able-to-write-about-everything ad as well. Unbelievable.
The position is paying $10/article, requiring at the start 5 articles a week.
Hi Deb,
It’s been a week since I’ve been able to stop by and visit for leads. I am too busy to look for work because I have work — thanks to you!
It must be interesting to see the writing gig trends. Do you think the trends switch slowly or quickly?
I’d like to think quickly…
Hi Deb — I’ve been visiting this site for a while and today I applied to one of the jobs for the first time, the city pet reporter position. (I am based in New York.) Thanks you the leads. I will let you know if I hear back from that publication…
