Congrats on the yoga. I started last year and feel like my life has benefitted from it a lot. About six months after I started I added a pilates mat class to the mix which seems to do more for toning up the body. Also enjoy hiking whenever I can. :)

I did yoga for years after dealing with panic attacks. I more recently moved on to Tai Chi because I find it relaxes me more.

I do need to start eating healthier. Christmas vacation with kids home and cookies around was not good on eating habits. I watched Alton Brown’s Good Eats last night and think I’ll give his advice a shot. Short of the sardines, which I really can’t stand, I enjoy a lot of the other “essentials” he mentions.

Now on to a bigger dilemma. I use my real name for writing and was recently informed someone else is doing PR work and internet writing stating she’s from Vermont and has an identical name. So now there is confusion coming into play because she makes her Facebook information (photos, posts, personal info) public which I will not do. I have 10 years of writing invested under my real name now though, so I’m going to have to find a way to make my Facebook page stand out as really being me without making the information public.

Anne, you might look into creating a separate Facebook profile for professional purposes. I’m not sure that will take care of it completely, but you might be able to make it work to your advantage and still keep a personal (private) Facebook profile for friends and family.

Congrats on committing to more exercise. I try to walk uphill for an hour right after my kids get on the bus, on the hills around my house…either that or if it’s absolutely pouring or high wind or something, do Wii Fit yoga and strength training and free weights. Writers need to move around to stay healthy and keep our brains sharp!

The experienced review writers is wanting you to review dating sites. I applied and received something back telling me to “sign up” with the sites and provide 100 word reviews to be considered and that they would be checking my references. Even when I reviewed sites for the Webby Awards we didn’t have to leave personal info.

I work out just about every day — racquetball, kickboxing, some weights and stretching. Stretching is great for all the kinks in the muscles. Being in front of a computer most the time requires that I stretch periodically throughout the day.

I also follow the bestselling self-help book on the planet. Thanks for the list.

I like to set tangible goals. Like this year. I’ve set my sites on an 8k race at the end of March. It keeps me accountable knowing that I have a looming event that my body needs to be ready for. Then I let myself know that as long as I did something for my training it counts. Sometimes even just walking to work or doing 20 minutes of pilates will count. That keeps my body healthy and doesn’t stress me out :-)

I think the yoga is a great idea. When I was working a 65 hour a week job starting the day with yoga kept me going longer and stronger both physically and mentally :-)

Just FYI, don’t bother with #14 and #15 under General/Misc. Freelance Writing Jobs. They want you to sign up on dating sites.

I’ve done yoga a handful of times and it’s a great exercise for toning your physique and developing balance and core strength. My wife did yoga regularly and got into great shape. Kudos and best of luck!
