43 Places to Find Freelance Writing Jobs

  1. Craigslist - Craigslist is my number one place to find freelance writing jobs. Say what you want about them, but I’ve found more legitimate, high paying opportunities on Craigslist than any other job search site. It has a bad reputation for being a haven for scammers, but they also have plenty of terrific gigs listed each day.
  2. About Freelance Writing - Many of you know Anne Wayman as About.com’s original Guide to Freelance Writing. I know her as a friend and colleague. When it comes to providing job lists, Anne and I have been doing this the longest. She posts abundant lists three times each week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
  3. ProBlogger – Ok. So you’re probably sick of hearing about my friends by now, but yes, ProBlogger Darren Rowse begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting is a friend too. His job listing service features blogging gigs from around the world.

Nice list Deb. Two links that I’ve checked don’t seem to be working. #30 BlogHer links to a “404 Page Not Found” error page, and #25 Work to Live points to a parked GoDaddy page.

But, it’s still a great list and I use many of these resources to job hunt.

Thanks for all your hard work.

  3. Angela West says:

Thanks Deb! You were my inspiration.

  4. Michelle S says:

Thanks for the great list Deb! I appreciate your hard work.

  5. Erin says:

Digital Point can be good but any more the content creation board is overrun with people wanting to pay $1/500 words. Seriously. It’s heinous. The best way to get jobs through DP is to participate in the other forums and link to your freelance sites and blogs in your signatures. The good stuff happens privately on DP.
