BookRix Drabbles Contest is Open to Writers in All Genres

BookRix is holding a Drabbles contest!  Drabbles are short stories of exactly 100 words.  Do you think you can do it?  Can you fit all the components of a story into just 100 words?  It would certainly be fun to try.  The contest is open to all genres, and you can follow the link to get all the contest details and submission guidelines.

The contest offers monetary prizes:

  • First prize = $600
  • Second prize = $400
  • Third prize = $200

Winners are chosen through a two-step voting process, which has already started but it’s not too late to enter:

  • Community Voting – August 2, 2010, to September 13, 2010
  • Jury Voting – September 13, 2010, to September 27, 2010

Thanks to Freelance Writing Jobs’ Jodee Redmond who is on the voting jury for this contest and told me about it.

Good luck to everyone who enters!

My thoughts are running deep, after only one hours sleep.President Obama came here today. My kitty wants to play. The hot weather is sweet. My mind cannot compete, its fuzzy and incomplete. The Heat! A sonic boom was loud. I heard it really loud! I am wearing pink. I just don’t want to think.I am signing off now, but here is one day, that will do down in history in a big way. What is this world coming too? Better yet where has it gone?In my mind is but a memory set.

Here is what I think. The work of love exists. Here is what I know. The work of love beholds. Here is how love works. It never wants to hurt. I find flowers bouquet bright. Here they are very light. The work of love delight. Here is how they grow. Open up your soul, simply let go.Watch them thrive. Here is how I think. Flowers never spoil the look, of how much you care. Let the flowers support your day, when it is dismay. This is what I find. The work of love is kind.Just let love grow.
